Eine neu veröffentlichte @FossilExit Studie zeigt: Wenn wir 1,5°C einhalten wollen, müssen die Abbauflächen der Braunkohle in der Lausitz um mehr als 50% reduziert werden. Angesichts der Landtagswahlen brauchen wir von der Politik daher konsequenten Klimaschutz statt Populismus!

Neue Studie mit @FossilExit: Die Abbaupläne in der #Lausitz müssen klar reduziert werden wenn DE sein #CO2budget einhalten möchte. Eine Reduktion zwischen 49 und 61% sind demnach nötig um der Region eine wirtschaftlich-sinnvolle und klimasensible Transformation zu ermöglichen.

Die größte Reduktion verlangt der Tagebau Reichwalde. In diesem Fall sollte die noch eingeplante Fläche um 70% reduziert werden. Dies würde ein wertvolles Waldgebiet in der Region schützen, Renaturierungskosten reduzieren und der #Lausitz eine bessere Planungsperspektive geben.
Der Tagebau Jänschwalde wurde aufgrund der Beendigung der Förderung dieses Jahres in der Studie nicht wietergehend beachtet.
