The mentoring that I do in tech is largely due to how I grew up which followed me well into my 20s. A lot of my childhood was turbulent, full of uncertainty. Starting out in this industry was difficult due to the lack of people from poorer backgrounds and I wanted to change it.
Congratulations to our amazing @frontendfran on being a selected as a finalist for Best Mentor at this years SPARKies.
We started in 2019 and have built a community of over 400 folk. Fran has been a coach for a number of years but joined the organising team last year ❤️
We had a fantastic time at our workshop last week, hosted by the wonderful @Stornaway_io 🚀. Thank you to our wonderful volunteer coaches, students and the Stornaway.io team! ❤️
Our next session is virtual and will be held on 11th July 👇
