🚨 Steven Gerrard frustrated over the unfair treatment of Liverpool by the referee in today’s match, insisting on the push on Bradley Barcola 🎙️ Interviewer: “Steven, Liverpool fans are fuming about a push on Bradley Barcola in the Palace box. What did you make of it?” Steven Gerrard: “It’s frustrating. The push on Barcola is clear. He’s in the box, the defender gets into him, and it affects his balance and the chance. That’s a penalty. The referee waves it away and VAR doesn’t even properly look at it. It’s the same old story with Liverpool — clear contact ignored.” Interviewer: “Some are saying the contact was soft. Do you agree?” Steven Gerrard: “No. When it’s against us it’s always ‘too soft’ or ‘he went down easily.’ When it’s the other way round, they give it. Barcola was trying to attack the ball and got shoved. That’s a foul every week. The inconsistency is what annoys me.” Interviewer: “Is this part of a wider pattern against Liverpool this season?” Steven Gerrard: “It feels like it. We don’t get the same protection. Barcola is a big signing, he’s in there causing problems, and they get away with the push. The officials need to be consistent. Liverpool fans are right to be angry about that one.” Interviewer: “Your message to the officials?” Steven Gerrard: “Look at the push properly. Slow it down, see the contact on Barcola, and make the correct call. We just want the same treatment as everyone else. That’s all.” #LFC #PremierLeague #CRYLIV #Barcola #VAR
