On May 29, 1926, the first Legion badge, said to be made from Manitoba gold, was presented to the Governor General, Lord Byng of Vimy. Its design has remained largely unchanged, becoming a lasting symbol of the Legion’s identity and commitment to Veterans, Remembrance, and community service.

It was a pleasure to be on Parliament Hill for the Coding for Veterans “Salute to Excellence” reception.
In partnership with @uOttawa, this work is helping veterans transition into careers in tech — building talent and a renewed sense of opportunity across Canada. As this work continues, I also want to thank Serge Blais for his leadership and wish him well in his upcoming retirement.
