I've always wanted an animation cel, and seeing one from such an influencial show to my life is amazing, and as long as I live with my roommates (which is basically guaranteed in perpetuity), I'll get to look at it every day.
I find the idea of marrying the two by having the dungeons have specific puzzles and solutions and tools and then allowing the player to explore the world more freely and less restricted with those tools is a good blend.

lmao but look at all the yellow paint they had to put on the road so you know where to drive. Moden video games amirite?
I love the RE games. I love 7 so much, I love 4 so much, I love 2 remake so much, I love 1 remake so much, I love the campy over the top tone that somehow remains frightening and eerie without being hopeless or undigestable. I love killing zombies. I love smokin herbs. I love RE.

1-3: A team of cops (and a college student) have to survive a zombified city.
4-6: The most muscular man to ever live has to roundhouse kick zombies to prevent World War III.
7-9: The blondest person you have ever seen has the worst day of their life.
The visual language this movie has is so reminiscent of the games in a way I really love. Cameras always within Bryan's perspective, lighting guiding him deeper into increasingly more alarming environments, the monsters mutate and get more abstract as time goes on.
The entire-
film is so clearly in love with its roots, and the identity it has is confidently molded by those roots.
This extends to the narrative pacing as well. Films tend to only superficially replicate a games identity, but this rejects the outer layer, using the core to craft it's own-
I keep seeing people call this a cliffhanger.
It isn't.
It is an ending. Bryan's ending.
His humanity is gone, his body is gone. Even if he did get cured, by this point, it probably would've just killed him.
He fought, and he grew, and no one will know his story.
I love it.
watching bryan slowly lose whatever was left of himself was so fucking sad, and seeing what he eventually turns into... what a way to end the movie #ResidentEvil

So good to hear that the reception to the film has been good enough for him to want to continue to be involved.
It's a seriously excellent comedy horror thrill ride, full of passion and love for the games, and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

this is unironically what Gamers harassing zach cregger wanted the movie to be like
