As a CSM, the commander and I walked every live fire. Watching those Soldiers put it all together never got old.
The squad that struggled during rehearsals was now moving with confidence. Team leaders were taking charge. The PL and PSG were working through problems without somebody standing over their shoulders.
Then you watched it come together.
Fire and maneuver. Talking guns. Effects on target. Integrating their weapon systems and every echelon of fires needed to seize the objective.
You knew how much work it took to get there. You’d watched every rough rehearsal, missed signal, and correction.
Some struggled. So we reset, coached them, and ran it again until they got it right.
Because there are no do-overs in combat.
Watching those young leaders from the PL and PSG down to the team leaders make decisions, control the fight, and lead their Soldiers put a damn smile on my face.
You walked off tired, covered in dirt, and proud of the boys.
They earned your confidence. Whenever the country called, you knew what they could bring to the fight. This video was from when we did platoon live fires at Camp Ethan Allen Training Site, home of the Mountain Warfare School.

ALERT: Trans bus driver is suing a school district after being fired for wearing a skimpy schoolgirl outfit on his route picking up children.
Ontario’s York Catholic District School Board fired L.Z., the bus driver, after multiple parents complained about his outfit.
L.Z. was recorded driving the bus in a short pink skirt, a white top, and knee-high stockings in 2025.
The bus route was named “Lolita Line,” which appears to be a reference to a book about a middle-aged man obsessed with a 12-year-old girl and is also similar to the nickname of Jeffrey Epstein’s plane, “Lolita Express.”
L.Z. is suing the school district and bus company for “discrimination with respect to employment because of ethnic origin, gender identity, and sex” because he is “a transgender woman.”
Columnist Jamie Sarkonak wrote, “No rational adult would show up to a job with proximity to kids in a skimpy costume and a reference to a novel about the s*xual abuse of a child by a middle-aged man … and then revive the controversy by engaging in lawfare.”
