I'll be at Yorkville on Friday covering Palatine's visit to face the Foxes in the Opening Round of the playoffs.
Both teams finished the season at 4-5. This should be one of the best matchups of the night.

When people talk about high school sports and which state love it more.
I want you to think about this for a minute.
Just how far ahead of the curve some Illinois schools were.
Eagles is the most popular team name in America. Sandburg has @EaglesAthletics.
LTHS can be thousands of schools.
#Lockport has @lthsathletics
#LyonsTownship has @LTHS_Athletics
Not only did they grab them pretty early in some cases, but they are still using them probably through multiple administration changes.
That's a winning attitude off the field.
You can find your schools main or secondary accounts via the Twitter database I set up a few years ago. Also, feel free to help me add missing or updated accounts!

I know everyone is thrilled that our coverage is free these days. Do me a favor and check out something my Chicago Public Media colleagues have been working hard to launch: chicago.com.
It's an alternative to Big Tech and commercial social media. If you live in one of the 5 pilot communities, Avondale, Bronzeville, Edgewater & Andersonville, Evanston or South Shore, join to connect with neighbors and get a locally-moderated feed and newsletter.

Really fun read all about the state champs by Matthew McGowan. If you haven't been following flag football you're missing out!
Luke Ignoffo is another WR who should be on All-DuKane ballots. Don’t be surprised when he is making big plays in 6A this postseason.

TJ Ogunribido from Lake Park deserves some All-DuKane votes at WR/Returner.
His track speed translates well to the gridiron. Only a few tenths off state qualifying standard as a soph at sectionals in May. He flashed it often for the Lancers this fall in a strong conference.
