Today I was denied entry into the West Bank, alongside other parliamentary colleagues from across Europe as part of a @ProgIntl delegation. We were held for 8 hours, interrogated and ultimately prevented from crossing the border. I came to stand alongside Palestinians being attacked for harvesting olives on their own land. Instead, we were turned away, with no reason given. More than ever, Palestinians are being subject to terror and violence by the IDF and illegal settlers. Increased blockades, demolitions and unthinkable violence have become the norm for Palestinians in the West Bank. It is more important now than ever that we bear witness and show our solidarity. But we were prevented from doing so. I will continue to do everything I can to apply pressure on the Netanyahu government, and those responsible for the persecution and genocide of the Palestinian people.

Andy Burnham's tactic of making scattergun announcements means this last seven days we've had 'Headphones on trains' ... 'Stockpile food' ... 'Olympics north' ... 'War is coming' ... 'Rejoin EU' ... 'Allow free movement' ... 'End rough sleeping'. He's got no actual plans.

The only reason Burnham is not pushing for another EU referendum is he doesn't know how to deal with the indyref2 question.

So here we have this former Russian ambassador explaining how the Donbass war began. There was a coup d’état in Kyiv in 2014, financed by the US. The new installed regime banned the Russian language, and the population of Crimea voted in a referendum for their independence against the ban on their native language. Kyiv then intervened militarily in Donbass in 2014, which triggered the war. The Minsk agreements then followed. Russia finally intervened in 2022 because there was no other solution to protect its compatriots in Donbass, who had been attacked for 8 years.

Remarkable synergy between the political class and the media class. Joined at the hip in climate disinformation.
Here in Scotland the Jackdaw decision has been widely welcomed as good for our economy, good for our energy security, & compatible with our climate goals.

As everyone knows what Andy Burnham means by "the North", I can't stop laughing at his comment that "the whole country" would be behind a "Northern Olympics", from "north to south". In other words, Scotland would not be behind it because we are outside the "north to south" zone.

43%…. That’s a staggering number. With most families having multiple kids back then, this means most families lost a child under 5…. Sometimes multiple times. Fuck anyone who says Vaccines don’t work. Fuck them all.
"Why are we so sick?" In 1800, about 43% of children died before their fifth birthday. Today it's under 4%. No seed oils, fluoride or vaccines back then. Just a lot of very small graves.

They've ethnically cleansed thousands over night. We're not far off organised reprisal shootings like their Nazi forebears. Seems clichéd now - but several decades from now everyone will claim they were against this.

I have 2 grandchildren who want to be paramedics. The one who lives in England has to pay £7000 a year. The one in Scotland pays nothing and gets £10000 a year income. That's what our SNP government has done for us. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Every barrel of oil UK exports to Europe is STOLEN from the Scottish people to enrich the elite in the City of London
Every barrel of oil the UK exports to Europe is one less barrel they would buy from Russia. Revenue. Security. Common sense. Approve Rosebank now.

They've really fucked up, haven't they? The class in power is the wrong class, making catastrophic decision after catastrophic decision in the name of a catastrophic rendering of human affairs. They believe that we, the West, is Rome to Russia's Carthage, and they have acted accordingly to the point where the prospect of war has never been more real. We have no enemies in Russia, they do. We are not responsible for Britain facing 'hostile states', they are. Russia is not and never has been a threat to Britain. But Britain is and continues to be a threat to Russia. Britain has not faced the looming threat of a hostile military alliance expanding up to its borders, Russia has. They can't even fight and defeat poverty in Britain, yet they expect us to fight and defeat Russia. They can't keep our pensioners warm in winter, yet they expect the grandsons of those pensioners to fight Russia. They can't even keep all our children properly fed and securely housed, yet they expect their dads to fight Russia. Despite everything, they want us to play the patriot game, to believe them when they say that Russia poses a growing threat. The real threat is posed by them and their barbaric ways. In the year 2026, is this really as good as it gets? theguardian.com/politics/202…

So to be clear. Unlike in 2014, when it temporarily ran out, Scotland does have vast reserves of oil and gas. The hypocrisy is staggering. The stupidity is terrifying. The talk of 'pragmatism' in a climate catastrophe is astonishing.
