I can still smell it.
Plastic cases mixed with popcorn.
A hint of carpet cleaner. Faint body odor.
Choosing a movie was an adventure.
It made Friday nights special.
With my parents and best friend, we went to Blockbuster. Our hearts full of anticipation.
The destination? A delightful mystery.
Blockbuster greeted us with cinematic wonder.
Rows of movies. Tapes and DVDs promised journeys into unknown universes.
The walls, a gallery of posters and cardboard heroes. Each beckoning silently into their stories.
The air, rich with memories.
Simpler times.
In those aisles, I was an explorer. Deciding our night's fate.
Each VHS, each DVD, whispered promises.
What new world next?
Disappointment when a movie was out. A lesson in patience.
Movies sorted by emotion. Comedy, horror, drama. More than categories, they guided our moods.
The 'new releases' section drew us in, eager and hopeful.
Blockbuster was a social hub.
Meeting friends and neighbors. Spontaneous chats. Recommendations exchanged.
The clerks were guides in our cinematic quest.
Choosing movies was a ritual. Walking the aisles, talking at the counter.
Renting came with urgency. A timeline streaming can't replicate.
Leaving with our bags. The start of an awaited event.
Not just about films. About the hunt, the decision, the excitement.
Today, movies are a click away. Convenient, but the journey is lost.
The art of the hunt, the joy of discovery, the shared anticipation, gone.
The Blockbuster era taught me to appreciate streaming.
And the value in slowing down, savoring the process.
In a world racing towards the next click, the next swipe, we have forgotten the art of exploration, anticipation.
Blockbuster reminds us. The journey is as important as the destination.
Not just in movies. But in life.
Appreciate the path. Relish the search. Cherish shared moments.
And don't miss the smells along the way.

Love this 🙌🙌👊
Every Friday, I look at next week's calendar and ask:
1. What can I say no to?
2. What can be delegated?
3. What can be automated?
4. What isn't urgent & important?
5. Can any meeting be 50% shorter?
Here's what usually happens:
- I find 1 meeting I can delete (30 min.)
- I delegate 1 thing to my VA (60 min.)
- I automate 1 thing that's manual (30 min.)
- I push one meeting 90 days (30 min.)
- I reduce 2 meetings by 50% (60 min.)
With a simple exercise, I save 3.5 hours.
That allows me to ask 3 additional questions to maximize my life, rather than my business.
- How can I get off the computer more?
- How can I maximize fun time?
- Is there anything missing?
This has become one of the most powerful exercises I do each week.
Anyone do something better/similar?
Putting an offer in on a house that could be our first FLIP!

This is what many people are waiting for.
But keep in mind when rates go down prices and demand will go up.
Now is a good time to take down deals that break even or have some cash flow.
There is less competition and you can refinance when rates drop.
