Genesis is introducing 4,096 Founding Charters, with a lot tied to them: access to T4+ zones, NFT drops, Royal Favor, and the ability to delegate a Charter to another player. Whitelist applications are open, with minting starting October 7. Here’s the utility, founding perks, and what’s still unclear 👇 ▸ What is a Charter? A Charter is an NFT that grants Citizen status and unlocks full participation in the Genesis economy. During the latest AMA, the team explained that initial access to Genesis is planned to be limited to Charter holders. ▸ The first issuance: 4,096 Founding Charters The collection will mint on Ethereum and consists of: • 3,584 Founding Citizens allocated to the allowlist. • 512 Viceroy Charters reserved for invited participants. The 4,096 supply applies specifically to the first generation, Founding Voyage I. Further Charter issuances are planned for the future. Each Founding Charter will have a unique Voyage I number from 1 to 4,096 that will never be reissued. ▸ What do they unlock? The announced Charter utility includes: • Access to T4+ zones and the Outlands. • The ability to earn Asset Economy NFT drops, including rare and exclusive items. • Earning Royal Favor and converting it into $RSGP. • Higher daily risk limits within the game’s mechanics. • Deploying Charters into Venues to earn rewards. • Participation in future Charter issuances. Guild warfare and territory control are also planned for the Outlands. Specific higher risk limits have not been shared yet. Holding more Charters is intended to let players scale their participation in the economy, alongside their potential rewards and exposure to risk. ▸ How do you use a Charter? To earn through a Charter, it must be staked to a Venue. Examples include Adventuring and Merchant Fleet. During the AMA, Merchant Fleet was described as a semi-passive, competitive system. Choosing where to deploy your Charters will therefore be part of the strategy. Exact reward rates, lock periods, and the full rules of these systems have not been disclosed yet. ▸ Delegation to other players A Charter can be delegated to another player, granting them temporary Citizen status. A sponsorship model is also planned, allowing the Charter owner to receive a share of the results. Specific splits have not been announced. According to the team, the goal is to make this possible without requiring players to create a guild. I’m interested in how this will work for smaller groups: one person has more time to grind, another provides the Charter, and they work together. ▸ Traits and specialization Charter traits will be disclosed at the reveal after the mint: • Voyage: Founding I. • House: one of eight Houses, with 512 Charters each. • Designation: Viceroy or Settler. • Number: 1 to 4,096. • Home city: currently listed as Thorin’s Peak. • Affinity: the Charter’s specialization. Examples of Affinities include Blacksmith, Swordsman, Whip Master, and Bow Expert. This is the detail that caught my attention most. Affinity is intended to determine the theoretical power ceiling within a particular specialization. I want to see how much this influences your choice of weapon, profession, and Charter for your preferred playstyle. ▸ What makes Founding Charters special? The founding generation is set to receive: • Exclusive access to Royal Favor until later voyages open. • Unique Voyage I numbering. • A role in future issuances, passing traits down to newly issued Charters. • First access to future utility expansions. The mechanics behind subsequent generations are still described broadly. Exact requirements, costs, and limitations need further clarification. ▸ What is different about Viceroys? Viceroy Charters will carry all the rights of a regular Citizen, plus additional House privileges and responsibilities. There will be 512, and their mint will take place during a closed, invitation-only phase at a fixed price. The amount has not been announced yet. Whitelist applications for the upcoming Charter mint are already open. However, participation in the Viceroy mint requires a separate invitation. The full list of differences between Viceroy and Settler has not been published yet. ▸ Can you sell your Charter? Yes. Charters will be transferable and tradable on the secondary market from the reveal onward. Ethereum will be the chain for Charters and other Game Assets. ▸ Mint timeline All times below are Eastern Daylight Time, EDT (UTC−4): • October 5, 1 PM: whitelist applications open. Already live. • October 7, 11 AM: Viceroy mint for invited participants. • October 8, 11 AM: GTD mint for guaranteed whitelist spots. • October 8, 12 PM: FCFS mint, while supply lasts.
