🚨 URGENT SUPPLY CHAIN ATTACK: LiteLLM has been hijacked AGAIN via a new malicious v1.107.0 release! Attackers used a lookalike repository (Berri-AI/litellm) to inject malware into the build tree, publishing backdoored platform wheels to PyPI and pushing infected Docker images. 💻 What the Malware Does The compromise uses two highly aggressive Python startup hooks (cook.pth and sitecustomize.py), meaning the payload executes automatically when the Python interpreter initializes, even if an application never explicitly imports litellm. The cook.py Stealer: Decodes into a massive infostealer targeting cloud credentials (AWS, GCP, Azure), SSH/GPG keys, Kubernetes secrets, .env files, browser data, and AI tokens (OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude, Cursor, Copilot). Proxy DB Target: It spawns Prisma to actively dump all upstream AI provider keys stored inside the proxy's LiteLLM_CredentialsTable. The Persistent RCE Loader: Sets up a detached hourly daemon that polls a GitHub dead-drop repository to fetch and raw-execute remote payloads. 🚫 The Payload Masking This is a wheel-level/build-artifact injection. The malicious files are absent from the public Git tag and the source distribution (sdist), meaning code-only reviews will completely miss the backdoor. 🛑 Critical Remediation Steps PyPI status: PyPI has successfully yanked 1.107.0. Docker Warning: The floating Docker tags (latest, main-latest, main-stable) on GHCR and Docker Hub are still pointing to infected images. Stop using them immediately. Safe Rollback: Pin your environments strictly to 1.106.2 (and pin Docker images by clean digests). Don't just run pip: Do not begin remediation by using Python-based tools like pip inside an infected environment, as this will re-trigger the startup hooks. Manually purge cook.pth, cook.py, and sitecustomize.py using raw shell commands first. Mass Rotation: If 1.107.0 was installed on a host with outbound internet, assume exfiltration succeeded. Rotate all credentials accessible to that host immediately. 🔗 Source Details: JFrog Analysis: research.jfrog.com/post/lite… GitHub Issue #47826: github.com/BerriAI/litellm/i… Flatt Security Guidance: flatt.tech/research/posts/li…

🚨 URGENT SECURITY ALERT FOR WEB DEVS 🚨 Massive security patches are rolling out right now for both PHP and Node.js. If you manage internet-facing applications, you need to act immediately. Here is what you need to know: 🐘 PHP: Leaked Critical RCE Flaws ("php2shell") Two critical Remote Code Execution vulnerabilities have leaked ahead of schedule, tracked as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619. The Risk: Rated a massive 9.2 on the CVSS v4.0 scale. Attackers can execute arbitrary commands on vulnerable servers over the internet, potentially taking full control of your infrastructure. Who is affected: Reportedly impacts all major versions from PHP 5 through PHP 8. Note: Cloudflare Detects Early Exploitation Attempts Targeting Two Leaked PHP Vulnerabilities Action Required: Emergency updates are dropping today via the PHP Foundation. Configuration workarounds are not effective. Stand by to update your infrastructure immediately, or consider taking highly exposed apps offline temporarily. Unofficial: Admins have two stopgaps until the fix lands at 14:00 UTC today. Turning off session.upload_progress.enabled in php.ini disables the feature the leaked details point to. The only cost is upload progress bars. Blocking every request with a multipart Content-Type at the web server goes further, but breaks file uploads. Neither is official. Gina Peter Banyard, a PHP core developer at the PHP Foundation. 🟢 Node.js: Coordinated Security Releases The Node.js project has officially deployed its scheduled security updates for all active release lines (26.x, 24.x, and 22.x). The Risk: Addresses multiple security flaws, with the highest severity issue rated as HIGH. One of the documented bugs includes a Permission Model bypass via fs.realpathSync (CVE-2026-106073). Who is affected: Users running active deployment branches. Note that End-of-Life versions (like Node 20 and below) are affected but will not receive public upstream patches. Action Required: Check your current runtimes and pull the latest patched builds directly from the official Node.js Vulnerability Portal. #php2shell #PHP #nodejs #vulnerability Source: - nodejs.org/en/blog/vulnerabi… - cybersecuritynews.com/php-ea… - thehackernews.com/2026/10/ph…

You "think" you know Bill Gates, but you don't.
Probably the most important #BillGates video you will ever see. Maybe the most important full stop. I am serious here - if everyone knew about this, many of our modern issues would be resolved. This is so important it defies definition:

FINAL TIMELINE AND UPDATE TO CUSTOMERS: 4:49pm CET: Ledger Connect Kit genuine version 1.1.8 is being propagated now automatically. We recommend waiting 24 hours until using the Ledger Connect Kit again. The investigation continues, here is the timeline of what we know about the exploit at this moment: - This morning CET, a former Ledger Employee fell victim to a phishing attack that gained access to their NPMJS account. - The attacker published a malicious version of the Ledger Connect Kit (affecting versions 1.1.5, 1.1.6, and 1.1.7). The malicious code used a rogue WalletConnect project to reroute funds to a hacker wallet. - Ledger’s technology and security teams were alerted and a fix was deployed within 40 minutes of Ledger becoming aware. The malicious file was live for around 5 hours, however we believe the window where funds were drained was limited to a period of less than two hours. - Ledger coordinated with @WalletConnect who quickly disabled the the rogue project. - The genuine and verified Ledger Connect Kit version 1.1.8 is now propagating and is safe to use. - For builders who are developing and interacting with the Ledger Connect Kit code: connect-kit development team on the NPM project are now read-only and can’t directly push the NPM package for safety reasons. - We have internally rotated the secrets to publish on Ledger’s GitHub. - Developers, please check again that you’re using the latest version, 1.1.8. - Ledger, along with @Walletconnect and our partners, have reported the bad actor’s wallet address. The address is now visible on @chainalysis. @tether has frozen the bad actor’s USDT. - We remind you to always Clear Sign with your Ledger. What you see on the Ledger screen is what you actually sign. If you still need to blind sign, use an additional Ledger mint wallet or parse your transaction manually. - We are actively talking with customers whose funds might have been affected, and working proactively to help those individuals at this time. - We are filing a complaint and working with law enforcement on the investigation to find the attacker. - We’re studying the exploit in order to avoid further attacks. We believe the attacker’s address where the funds were drained is here: 0x658729879fca881d9526480b82ae00efc54b5c2d Thank you to @WalletConnect, @Tether_io, @Chainalysis, @zachxbt, and the whole community that helped us and continue to help us identify and solve this attack. Security will always prevail with the help of the whole ecosystem.
