Residents who help elderly or disabled neighbours put their rubbish out in this Japanese trial will earn the city's digital local currency (about ¥100 of it) per help.
A new model of public service? Or transactionalising neighbourliness?

Not the best weather today - I blame the SatNav for the “scenic route” - but still every bit as stunning 🤩
Where the #PHP and #python vulnerability issues end eventually - fully automated cybersecurity (AI-enabled prevention)? Just imagine the approach is applied to new public service design and delivery…

vulnzero. the scaling laws will have driven cyber mythos-class capabilities into small, cheap models and all software dev everywhere will be using models for fractions of pennies on the dollar to stop shipping security bugs permanently.
This is the AI upskilling that’s urgently required @cipd if the aim is a ‘smooth transition’ without permanent scarring akin to the rapid deindustrialisation witnessed during the 1980’s #TAI
"Just 4% of CIOs reported plans in place to revamp roles with a human-agent workforce in mind, according to the report." ciodive.com/news/gartner-sur… < that seems ... not great. A lot of companies are going to find themselves woefully behind the curve.

In 2025, we published a bold proposal to use fusion reactors for gold production.
And now we’ve done it: Mercury transmuted into stable gold, using fusion neutrons, at 10x the record set by CERN in 2025.
We’ve reduced alchemy to a series of difficult but tractable engineering problems.

what type of vacancies? where are they concentrated? Armed with that info, we could better support NEETs (and incentivise mobility). But, would still need to acknowledge there are insufficient vacancies to move the dial on unemployment decisively. Help people start businesses.

If Musk uses ordinary custodial accounts, each child could receive a real, saleable share, with the parent able to sell it only for the child’s benefit. If he uses Trump Accounts, the outcome would be a 5-year locked, non-selectable economic interest. 1/2
A direct gift to kids would be a $10 billion-plus taxable-gift exercise with little or no personal tax benefit to Musk; routing the shares through a charity into Trump Accounts could let him avoid capital-gains tax and claim a large charitable deduction. 2/2
Surprise. Not.
