In an economic crisis like #COVID19, for every $1 spent, SNAP puts as much as $1.80 back into the economy.
But Congress hasn’t increased it. That has to change. #SNAPMatters

Let’s just say that access to enough healthy food is a human right. The word ‘entitlement’ has some baggage in some parts of the world (like ours, sadly).
Food is an entitlement, not a privilege.
The right to food is a growing priority in order to improve global nutrition and access to food.

This week, we’re featuring a popup appearance by Waltham's only farm! @CommunityFarms has been the fiscal sponsor of the Waltham Farmers’ Market for many years, and we’re excited to host them at our market. It doesn’t get any more local!

FOLLOW ALONG HERE--IT YOU EAT FRUIT & VEGETABLES. My colleague @dannyhakim and I took a deep journey this summer into the world of pesticides, corporations that make them, workers who grow the food and the E.P.A., which decides if they are toxic or safe. nytimes.com/2018/08/24/busin…

Customers, rest assured that our SNAP token program will continue because we use First Data, not MarketLink. We do not know yet whether our HIP vendors are impacted, but it should continue at least through July. teapawt.org/jane_black/status/1016…

We see lots of families at the market where the kids are active participants in choices made for the family's meals and snacks. We love that message! teapawt.org/NPRFood/status/1006550…
Experts will tell you that if you want to raise a kid who eats just about everything, you should feed them what you eat. It's what most cultures have done for most of human history. But American culture sends parents a very different message.
