An unfortunate development for Salon’s reader. The button was right there.
Today, after 31 years, we are saddened to announce that Salon is ceasing publication. It has been an extraordinary privilege. salon.com/2026/11/05/goodbye…

This is what listening to the media and TikTokers about conservatives does to you.
The left truly has no theory of mind of Republicans

The vote was rigged. Just really clear examples of fraud, especially coming from the South. I mean Texas? Mississippi? Are you serious? That's the only explanation I can come up with for why a one loss Notre Dame team is #11.

Lies! Tennessee is awful. Basically a war zone. Keep your families away. You would hate it here.
Places that are still safe: 1. Florida 2. Tennessee 3. West Virgina 4. Oklahoma (Except for Tornadoes) 5. North Dakota 6. Montana 7. Arkansas

The US spends roughly $8.2 trillion every year on education, healthcare, and the arts combined. $500 million from Elon Musk would cover that spending for about 32 minutes.
Imagine if Elon's $500 million had been spent on education or healthcare. Or the arts. Anything.

NC is a perfect example. 3 constitutional amendments passed with 60% - voter ID, cap on income tax, property tax. People like Republican policies. They just don't realize the policies they like are conservative/Republican because they have been told Republicans are the extremists. The party has not done a good job pushing back against that false narrative. It is so pervasive in the media that it is taken as a given.

There is a very interesting mismatch between the elections for *candidates*, which effectively yielded a massive and historic sweep for the Democrats, and the *ballot initiatives*, almost all all of which yielded conservative outcomes, even in the deep blue states (but not VA).

The problem with the “oh Republicans did bad thing by deporting illegal aliens” is that immigration was one of their few issues that polled decently for them. They absolutely bombed on stuff like economics and corruption.
It's not the Iran war or the tariffs or the immigration raids or the tax bill or any other event or decision. The single best predictor of Trump's popularity at a given moment is the number of days he has been in office. It's a linear trend down.

Home prices and rents in Texas are coming down because of deportations. Having framed houses I can tell you we have plenty of American citizens to build them. None of my construction sites had illegals working.
Texas homebuilder is voting Talarico because ICE raids are deporting the cheap labor he uses to build his shoddy houses. By staying home, you're allowing this to win.

Emphatically agree.
Early voting and mail-in voting have destroyed the important ritual and symbolic elements of Election Day. Another win for myopic utilitarianism, a loss for civic culture. wsj.com/opinion/free-express…

West Texas could be the key for Paxton. If they keep turning out in record numbers, he's going to have a big night.
Lubbock County: 80,977 early votes. That's more than the 80,576 who voted in the entire 2022 midterm. The elections office expects as many again today at 36 vote centers. West Texas, finish it.
