To everybody who has ever watched me, argued with me, hated me, loved me, blocked me, unblocked me, reposted me, cursed me out, defended me, or simply wondered, “What the hell is Achilles doing now?” — this is for you.
I guess this is where I finally say it.
Achilles6996 is officially retiring from bootlegging battle rap.
Yeah.
You heard me right.
I’ve been bought out.
After years of running through battle rap, finding streams, sharing moments, catching heat, pissing people off, making people laugh, and somehow becoming a character in this culture all by myself…
I finally got an offer I couldn't refuse.
So in 2027, the bootlegger formerly known as Achilles is officially hanging it up.
And honestly?
It feels weird saying that.
Because this was never just about watching battles.
This became a culture.
I watched this shit grow. I watched leagues come and go. I watched battlers become stars. I watched unknown names turn into household names. I watched classics happen in real time.
And sometimes, I was the guy making sure people who couldn't afford the event still got to experience that moment.
Was everybody happy about it?
Absolutely not.
Did leagues hate me?
Some definitely did.
Did battlers have opinions?
Oh, I heard ALL of them.
But to the fans…
I know what this meant to you.
And that's why I want to say thank you.
Thank you to everybody who ever tuned in.
Thank you to everybody who sat there refreshing the page waiting for the battle to drop.
Thank you to the person who couldn't afford the PPV.
Thank you to the fan who was overseas and couldn't attend.
Thank you to the person watching on their phone at 3 in the morning.
Thank you to the old heads who have been watching battle rap since before half these leagues existed.
Thank you to the new fans who discovered the culture through a clip, a Space, a faceoff, a bootleg, or some crazy moment that went viral.
Thank you to every battler who ever gave us a classic.
Thank you to every league that put their money, time, energy, and reputation on the line to make these events happen.
Thank you to the cameramen.
Thank you to the DJs.
Thank you to the hosts.
Thank you to the commentators.
Thank you to the bloggers.
Thank you to the Twitter/X warriors.
Thank you to the people who wrote 47-tweet breakdowns after every battle.
Thank you to the people who swore somebody won 3-0 when everybody else had it 2-1.
Thank you to everybody who ever argued with me.
And especially…
thank you to everybody who ever supported me.
You didn't have to.
But you did.
And I'll never forget that.
People may remember Achilles as the guy who bootlegged battle rap.
But I hope when it's all said and done, you remember something bigger.
I was a fan first.
Before I was Achilles6996.
Before the arguments.
Before the controversy.
Before The Trenches.
Before the Spaces.
Before the interviews.
Before everything…
I was just somebody who loved battle rap.
And that's never changing.
So yeah…
2027 is different.
The checks have cleared.
The contract is signed.
The lawyers have smiled.
The money has been counted.
And apparently, there is finally an amount of money large enough to make Achilles stop bootlegging.
