The non Luka minutes were too much Sexton and not enough Reaves. In the 4th it was not enough Luka. These are things you’d hope they work out in the first couple months of the season.
That was a fun basketball game. Lakers lost it when Luka went to the bench. Lakers still haven’t played a great team game yet and they’re 3-1. Things are still positive for them.
This is a good basketball game. The last thing it needs is Scott Foster and crew taking over the game. I mean they already have but it’s time to let the stars decide the game.
Collin Sexton is a wild experience. He’s got the ability to get you 20 or turn it over 5 times in 5 minutes.
The non Luka and Kessler minutes are dangerous for the Lakers. It’s tough for them to survive especially when the other team has 2 great bigs.
This sucks. While I’m not rooting for Minnesota you want to see the best players and competition out on the court. Anthony Edwards is on a small list of great competitors and the league needs that right now.
I believe MVP ladders should be illegal until after the All-Star break. That being said, Ty Jerome would be number 2 behind Luka as of now.
Time to invest in Ty Jerome rookie cards?
SGA owes the NBA $8.4 million in flopping fines.
LAL’s Ziaire Williams was assessed a postgame Flopping fine of $2,000 upon league office review for nba.com/watch/video/lal-uta on Oct. 25 vs. UTA. Flopping is among the NBA’s Areas of Focus for the 2026-27 season.
Luka Doncic is now 16–0 when he scores more than 45 points in a game. The next closest is Larry Bird, who went 14–2 when scoring more than 45 points.
It’s a good sign for the Lakers that they can play sloppy and have Luka not play great and still win. Luka’s teams of the past would never win a game like that.
Lots to work on though.
Watching Kessler leave and Lopez get 7 easy points in a row is rough. Kessler cannot get injury this year.
Lakers have a ways to go in figuring out there rotations and new offense. Also, Looney is such a massive drop off from Kessler it’s a problem. Everything changes when Walker leaves the court.
Anthony Edward’s pulls an Anthony Edwards. 45 points and can’t be stopped one game, 5 for 23 the next. It’s why I can’t put him in that top tier of players. The MVP candidates do it every game.
This isn’t a conspiracy theory. We have many MVP voters who have openly said they don’t like Luka. The biggest national voices have made it clear that they will never vote for him. I believe anyone who publicly admits to having disdain for him should lose their vote.
Luka will never win MVP because of this. But history will expose just how ignorant these people were.
The Luka Doncic debate: On the night that a rookie declared a lack of respect for the Lakers star, and a week after GMs left him off their (top five) MVP predictions, I went deeper on this topic with Draymond Green and Austin Reaves, at @TheAthletic
