Last Friday, @CornellTPI kicked off the semester with a Tech Talk from Siva Selvam, MBA ’26, on his summer research into biomining and critical minerals.
He broke down global trends for cobalt, copper, magnesium, and nickel, and explained why domestic biomining investment, particularly in nickel + cobalt, could meaningfully reduce U.S. reliance on China for materials tied to semiconductor manufacturing.

Earlier this week, @CornellTPI hosted Dr. Michael J. Kelly (@bitstorian) for a Bitcoin Tech Talk, “Self-Hosting Bitcoin: A Live Demo”.
Dr. Kelly walked students through the practical foundations of running their own Bitcoin infrastructure.
The session built on his support in facilitating the donation of a @start9labs Server One from @SoloSatoshi to the lab, coordinated with TPI Directors @sekreps and @DrJamesRogers & Junior Fellows Thej Khanna and Saanvi Puri.

At @CornellTPI, we sit at the intersection of emerging technology and national security, which means the ongoing standoff between the Pentagon and @AnthropicAI lands squarely in our wheelhouse. It involves questions about what AI systems should and shouldn’t do and more.
This timeline: publicpolicy.cornell.edu/btp… sets the stage for a deeper conversation. It maps how the standoff developed, who the key players are, and what’s actually at stake. It also provided a grounded analysis of essentially, the problem of the next decade.
