Mr. Cottone

Interested in experiencing the world? I wrote an article for the @MeaVoice magazine where I shared my experiences and namely my time in Peru with the @NEAFoundation. These experiences have changed my life. mea.org/you-can-travel-the-w… @MEAOnline @RochesterEA @rochcommschools 🌎🌍🌏👨‍🏫

Here is a trailer I made to our incredible experience in France. 🇫🇷 youtu.be/1ZUx0EcyJl8?si=nxqx… @rochcommschools @VHMSVikings @MatthewsVikings @rdmooney

Ian and I walked over 15 miles exploring Paris together. We saw so much! From the Eiffel Tower, to Napoleon’s tomb, to the Pantheon, to Notre-Dame, Paris is amazing. @rochcommschools @VHMSVikings

Couldn't be more proud of Ian for his eulogy of our soldier we've been researching. The culmination of 10 months of work, it was moving. The family of Auvergne Breault said they couldn't be more proud to have Abe honored 80 years later after D-Day. @rochcommschools @VHMSVikings

With former student Ian at the AHS Normandy Institute in Normandy learning about D-Day for the 80th Anniversary. The fellowship motto is “Freedom isn’t Free”. To see how long the beaches are and the obstacles these brave men had to endure, priceless @rochcommschools @VHMSVikings

One of the craziest, most impressive accomplishments on an already amazing season happened at the 39th Oakland County Middle School Track Meet. The girls 4x800m relay not only broke their new VH record, they broke the County Meet Record!!! So proud! @VHMSVikings @rochcommschools

And newwwww girls 800m record goes to Eva Wordell. Amazing record breaking run at the city meet. @VHMSVikings @mrswordell @rochcommschools 🏃‍♀️🔥🏆

And newwwwww girls 4x800 record holders, beating a 26 year old record by 17 seconds, with a time of 10:16! So proud of these girls. @VHMSVikings @rochcommschools

And NEWWWWWWWW Girls 1 mile record goes to Jessie Soldan. So proud of her, smashing the previous record held by her sister. 5:24.90 is super fast! @VHMSVikings @rochcommschools @MsMacKillop1

Thank you @USStateDepartm2 @FulbrightPrgrm @FulbrightTeach @IREXintl @ECAatState for providing one of the best conferences I've ever attended. So many amazing people were in attendance in DC. I left completely inspired. @rochcommschools @VHMSVikings #globaled #exchangeourworld

And NEWWW 2 Mile Boys @VHMSVikings Record goes to Oscar! 10:54 We are so incredibly proud of him and his journey on and off the track. He put in the work and went #thedistance @MsMacKillop1 @mrswordell @rdmooney @MatthewsVikings 🏃👟🏆 Keep smashing it 👊

For the Normandy fellowship I was awarded, I am wondering if anyone in the area has someone they know that fought in WWII in Normandy, is from Michigan, and is buried at Normandy. We will research this individual, eulogize them, and their records will be saved @rochcommschools

If anyone has someone they know who served in WW2, fought during the Normandy operation, and is buried in Normandy and would like my student and myself to research their life and eulogize them in Normandy, let me know asap. Some additional requirements.

Beyond excited for what is coming ahead. A former student and I will be headed to France as a team this summer on a unique fellowship opportunity to study WW2. We will study in Washington DC, Normandy, and Paris. @rochcommschools @VHMSVikings

Cross-curricular learning experience between @VHMSVikings art class with @MrsFrederickVH and World Studies 6. @rochcommschools
