See here for a clear and succinct explanation of the law on single sex spaces.
⬇️
And for the terminally confused: women DO have the right to single-sex toilets (and changing rooms if needed) AT WORK. As do men. Under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
For service providers, single-sex facilities are permissible, not obligatory, but failure to do so may give rise to indirect sex discrimination.
Indirect, because treating men and women the same, but sex discrimination nonetheless, because it is detrimental to women.

Two days after Henry died Hampshire Police secretly recorded Digwa in a police van speaking Punjabi to his brother. Digwa admitted stabbing Henry. Discussed claiming self defence. Made zero mention of racial abuse. Not one word.
Hampshire Police had that tape.
They knew Digwa was lying about the racist attack. They had the evidence. They had his own words and then tried to smear Henry as the aggressor anyway.
Three days after his death their statement read “it was reported two men had been assaulted by an unknown man.” Henry was the unknown man. The boy bleeding out on the street. They flipped it.
Family complained. Statement changed. Then police told the family their NEXT update would again infer Henry was the initial aggressor. His family had to fight them a second time. While grieving their murdered son.
Then during the trial Hampshire tried to issue a statement telling the public to stop talking about it online. Calling it disinformation. The CPS had to step in. Told them they were about to collapse their own murder case.
This is the force that handcuffed a dying boy. Missed the murder weapon twice. Had a secret tape proving the killer lied. And still tried to bury Henry's name.
That's not incompetence. That's a machine protecting itself. At the expense of a dead boy's reputation and three officers are still on active duty. Not suspended. Treated as witnesses. To their own actions.
Hampshire Police didn't just fail Henry on that street. They kept failing him for six months after he died.

I don’t believe anyone can defend this bill in good faith. It is catastrophically dangerous.
But the nature of our parliamentary system is that the vast majority of MPs will plod through the lobby and vote simply on the basis of whatever their Whips have told them to do, without any thought whatsoever.
Individual MPs MUST be held to account for their actions in relation to this bill.
It WILL go wrong. It WILL cause terrible injustices. It WILL cause irreparable damage to children. It WILL tear families apart. There is no doubt about that.
And each and every terrible example must be placed directly on the shoulders of each individual MP who backs it.
“We could amend this Bill here, there and everywhere, carve out this, tweak that, but at the end of the day the government would still be passing a Bill that says there’s one area, and one area only, of medical practice where you could get prosecuted if you put a foot wrong. That won’t be a chilling effect, that’ll be a deep freeze”

The thing is, Russell Brand isn't on trial for how he is now*, it's for what he allegedly did previously.
*And notably, not even his best mates are willing to stand up for his current "good character".
This is what he says he did previously...

“This boy learns he can commit the most horrific, violent attacks and be greeted with nothing but softly spoken words and a smile.
The girl learns her life, her safety, her future does not matter.
This country is a disgrace.” @andyburnham @bphillipsonMP
A 14YO boy lay in wait to attack a 14YO girl - where he stabbed her TEN times - and stabbed a shopkeeper.
A judge panders to him in court, calling him a "bright boy" and "prison is no place for him" and let's him walk free.
Police say it was a miracle the girl survived. She suffers nightmares and ongoing trauma that will affect her for the rest of her life.
Her family left distraught.
A public outraged - moved in their droves to challenge it.
Yet nothing will be done.
This boy learns he can commit the most horrific, violent attacks and be greeted with nothing but softly spoken words and a smile.
The girl learns her life, her safety, her future does not matter.
This country is a disgrace. A shameful, catastrophic hellhole of injustice with a legal system that cares only for horrific offenders and NO regard whatsoever for the trail of destroyed lives they leave behind.
I absolutely despair.
Thank you to everyone who challenged it. They gave us hope justice could prevail by including it on the website - but had no intention of following it through - which somehow makes it even worse. 😞

The Ban Conversion Practices Coalition has been extremely vocal in its demands for prayer to be criminalised. Yet when asked whether the draft Bill it supports could do exactly that, suddenly, it’s ‘too difficult’ to say.
Baroness Brown of Silvertown asks the Ban Conversion Practices Coalition’s Prof Ilias Trispiotis whether a pastor who prays with someone struggling with their identity could be guilty of a ‘conversion practice’.
No amount of obfuscation changes the fact that: yes, yes, they could.
In Victoria, Australia – which the Coalition has called the “gold standard” and a model for the UK to emulate – the Government has even issued guidance on which prayers are acceptable under its conversion practices law.

The Conversion Bill makes it a crime to say "I want you to grow up to be a happy lesbian, I don't believe you were born in the wrong body"
This is crazy.

This from Dennis is particularly brilliant. He was asked a leading question about how much conversion therapy is out there, and he turned it incredibly effectively to the post-modern "conversion therapy" that is gender medicine. There is definitely a lot of "reparative therapy" out there - and it's done by the gender clinicians who put gay teenagers on the path to chemical and/or physical castration. The framing the question suggested was that this bill is addressing a serious, existing harm, albeit perhaps the bill needs some safeguards to stop overreach. Dennis moved back onto his own framing, showing that there is a genuine, serious problem with conversion therapy, but it's not where the panel committee think it is, and this bill will make it worse.
The Conversion Practices bill “makes it a crime to say to your teenaged daughter:
I want you to love your body,
I want you to grow up to be a happy lesbian.
I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU ARE A MAN!”

Yup. It’s parents who will take the brunt of this. Good news for me and my mortgage payments I guess.
Galop’s Kai O’Doherty claims its report Still Not Illegal contains hundreds of case studies of ‘conversion practices’ reported to Galop’s services, and identifies PARENTS as the most likely perpetrators of abuse.
What he fails to mention? 85% of cases came via third-party referrals, with just 29 coming through Galop’s general helpline or website.
And Galop itself admits the findings “should NOT be considered to be prevalence data”.

St Hilda’s College, Oxford received three separate complaints raising concerns about alleged sexual harassment in just three weeks. Five complainants in total.
28 April
1 May
18 May
All concerned a male biochemistry lecturer who had published photographs of himself wearing large prosthetic breasts, apparently in university work settings.
Would that not at least warrant an assessment of whether an investigation was needed?
Two complainants say they received no reply - even after one sent a follow-up email.
The three alumnae who complained jointly received a response including this statement:
“We aim to create an inclusive culture, workplace and learning environment, free from discrimination, harassment or victimisation, where all people are treated with dignity and respect.”
It did not address their specific concerns or explain whether any investigation or action followed.
When I asked how the complaints had been handled, the college directed me to its student complaints procedure and said it had nothing further to add.
These are the complaints we know about. There may be others.
My inbox is open: [email protected] - any messages treated in confidence.
🚨 NEW: “St Hilda’s College takes seriously the duty to protect and promote freedom of expression within the law.”
The response three female former Oxford University students received - after complaining about male biochemistry lecturer Matt Rattley wearing large prosthetic breasts at work.
“We urge you to take immediate action,” they wrote to the college’s principal, Dame Sarah Springman, in May, raising concerns about sexual harassment.
A parent and a member of the public who separately raised concerns say they received no reply.
Asked how the complaints were handled, both Oxford University and St Hilda’s said they had nothing further to add to their previous statements.
I’ve published the correspondence and their responses in [Un]Captured.

“Could you just describe serious distress to me?” “Do you think that would relate to a 14-year-old teenager?”
Baroness Browning questions reflect what parents are asking in our @BeyondTransHelp support groups. The witnesses had no clear answers and seemed unmoved by the thought of a loving parental relationship being criminalised. 2/3

A study from 1988 found that 54% of sex killers investigated were transvestites.
Other studies have found a transvestism rate of 40% among sexually sadistic murderers, a “high frequency of…gender dysphoria in sexual homicide perpetrators,” and a link between gender dysphoria and sexual sadism.

I welcomed Cass’s seminal report and its scrutiny of the evidence. But some of its recommendations reveal a lack of understanding of the clinical problem at the heart of this presentation.
In my clinical experience, rigid beliefs often hold together a fragile sense of self, keeping anxiety and uncertainty out of view. We cannot understand the clinical problem without examining why that certainty is so necessary and what the person fears would happen if they began to question it. Care that simply confirms the belief risks reinforcing the very difficulty we need to understand.
