Gram Parsons remains one of the most protean influences in American music, from rock to indie to country. He accomplished so much in such a short life, in the Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers, solo with Emmylou Harris, and yes, influencing the Rolling Stones. With every year, his memory continues to get brighter.
The American people are not bitter and alienated. They just don’t like arrogance, corruption and being lied to. They rejected the Democratic Party for exactly these sins, only for Donald Trump to assume he had a mandate from heaven to be every bit as high-handed and corrupt as Joe Biden and to make his own family ten times richer. Voters rightfully turned away from this behavior in disgust. Both parties have now been punished.
The party that will win in 2028 will be the one that offers a forward looking, expansive, democratic vision of the future — of a growing economy that benefits everyone and a government that serves normal, hard-working people rather than showing contempt for them. It will not be the party that allows itself to be captured by radicals and wallows in hate — for white people, black people, men, women or anyone else.

Americans hate the Democrats. In this election, they hated Donald Trump and his Republican Party even more. The candidate who wins the White House in 2028 is therefore likely to be one of two people:
1. A Republican who convincingly separates themselves from the corruption and incompetence of Trump and his administration.
2. A Democrat who defies the lunatics in his or her own party.
Instead of trying to fight reality, and getting all nostalgic for the administration of Warren G. Harding, why not simply admit that we are living in Brazil, where a corrupt oligarchy jockeys for position with power-crazed communists, and basic public services have stopped working — and act accordingly? Its not a pleasant way to live, but Americans have done it before, and built a great nation. And we’ve done it more than once.
