Covenant Seminary is pleased to announce that our incoming class for fall 2026 includes the largest number of first-year Master of Divinity (MDiv) students the school has seen since 2012.
Of the more than 60 new MDiv students who started classes this fall, 85% are what the Seminary classifies as “pastor-minded”—constituting a year-over-year increase of 38% in incoming pastor-minded students.

If you are looking to relocate for seminary, where you will live is one of the biggest questions you have to consider. We try to take the stress out of this decision by offering on-campus housing for single students, married couples, and families with children.
Students and alumni frequently recall how residential community was one of the most special aspects of their time in seminary. In an age where community life is becoming more and more disconnected from ministry formation, Covenant has intentionally worked to preserve this aspect of our student experience.

Before the church could confess what she believed about Jesus Christ, she was forced to reckon with a direct challenge to the heart of that confession. In the early fourth century, a presbyter in Alexandria named Arius put forward an account of the Son of God that would ignite a theological crisis spanning generations.
Dr. K.J. Drake writes on Arius's heresy for @AlexandrianInst.

Seminary is a big decision. A preview day makes it a more informed one.
Of the students who visited Covenant Seminary for a preview day this past year and planned to start in fall 2026, nearly 9 of 10 are now enrolled. If you’re weighing theological education, the best way to find out if it fits is to come in person.

Associate Professor of Systematic Theology Dr. Drew Martin was recently featured on @PCAByFaith's "What Christians Believe" podcast, joining host @DZRishmawy to talk about the Mosaic Covenant and its implications for believers today.
Their conversation explores this covenant in Scripture, its role in forming Israel as a kingdom of priests, the challenge of law and grace, and how Israel's failures highlight the need for Christ as the true and faithful Israel.

Along with the entire Presbyterian Church in America, Covenant Theological Seminary mourns the loss of pastor, evangelist, and denominational founding father Rev. Kennedy Smartt, who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the age of 101. Though we grieve with his family and friends, we also celebrate with them his entrance into the presence of the Savior he loved so much.

Yesterday in chapel, our own Dr. Brad Matthews continued our series on the book of Revelation with a sermon on Revelation 6–8:5, entitled "The Seals and the Sealed," reminding us that even when God's mission leads God's people through tribulation, believers can take comfort in the finished sealing work of Christ, who will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Have you ever thought about the role geography can play a key role in shaping future pastors and church leaders? The founders of Covenant Seminary chose St. Louis for its central location and accessibility within the U.S., and we believe it's still one of the best places in the world to prepare for ministry.
See why. 👇

We are not the first among God’s people who have found the task of ministry leadership challenging. In Numbers 20, we witness Israel grumbling yet again in the face of their wanderings. You may recall that Moses’s faith also falters—and does so spectacularly.
@DrThomasGibbs reminds us in this article of how God’s grace enables flawed leaders to keep on leading and flawed followers to keep on following.

Jesus commissioned his disciples to be witnesses to the ends of the earth. While foreign missions remains important for the PCA, we must also recognize that the ends of the earth have arrived at our doorstep.
In this #PCAGA seminar, Dr. Richard Joe, Associate Professor and Paul D. Kooistra Chair of World Missions at Covenant Seminary, discusses “diaspora mission” and its impact on our churches, highlighting the growth of Christianity in Iran as a key example.
