The real world is nothing like this lunatic asylum we see online. Quick story for you guys. Last night I sat down with my boyfriend to go through the Colorado ballot. We poured a bottle of wine and paused the Avs game. We ended up talking through the candidates and issues for HOURS, not just about how we were voting, but about our VALUES and our hopes and dreams. Even though we ended up disagreeing on a lot, the conversation was respectful and pleasant, and in the end, we came away with a renewed appreciation for each other’s perspective. It took the whole night, but I’m glad we did it. This morning, I took the ballots to the Jefferson County courthouse, put my ballot in the drop box, and threw his in the trash.
