For those lamenting the possibility of no SEC teams in the playoffs: SEC teams are 4-6 against vs. ACC teams in 2023 and 7-9 vs. all Power 5 conf. teams. SEC is not dominant this year. Hence 1-loss Ala. and Ga. are not better than undefeated FSU, Mich. and Wash. nor 1-loss Texas.

Sign App State and North Carolina on for the next decade. I don’t care what anyone on either side thinks.

Today I defended my dissertation, “The Age of Junaluska: Eastern Cherokee Sovereignty in the Long Civil War Era.” Special thanks to my advisor @ProfOBrien for introducing me to the Native South, to @WEMilteer for his research tips, & Dr. Elliott and Dr. Rupert for their support.

Today, Boston and NYC will be served by 100 more flights than trains despite being 215 miles apart. It's clear that America should have fast and frequent train service between cities under 500 miles, full stop.

This is a masterclass in reason. I hate that it probably changed nothing for this politician but maybe it will have a positive effect on others.
State Sen. Nathan Dahm (R-OK) has penned several bills loosening gun restrictions, including the nation’s first anti-red flag law. He thinks these bills protect the Second Amendment – and that they make us safer. We think it's probably one or the other. Watch it on @AppleTVPlus.

A Melee Monday Thread. The classic depiction of eighteenth-century warfare is troops marching into close range, firing a few volleys, and charging with bayonets. How frequent was melee (hand to hand) combat in this era? TL;DR, troops didn't fight in hand to hand very often. 1/28

The GREAT ABANDONMENT of the Church is caused more by its response to:
1. Donald Trump
2. George Floyd, BLM, and CRT
3. COVID
than it is
1. Deconstruction
2. Rejection of Jesus
3. The chance to sleep in
They had to leave the Church to keep their faith.

Can't believe @sbr2795 and I got to meet @tracydeonn last night. She is amazing and I cannot stress enough how much everyone needs to read her work.

Yesterday a parent called me with safety concerns. She was clear and kind. Direct and constructive. I was so grateful for the honesty and even more grateful for the approach. She treated me like I was on her team, because I am. We need more of this in education.
