If this is what we were dealing with, the format might have actually been saved.

This is correct! Pile shuffling very neatly and cleanly distributes the cards in your deck better than any other form of shuffling to minimize the possibility of similar resources being clumped together
Especially important for decks that stack similar resource in your discard pile or when shuffling up a deck for the first time
It's kinda silly that we even have to riffle or mash shuffle anymore when we know what the optimal form of shuffling is to maximize even distribution of cards
We drive F1 cars. We want more people to drive F1 cars with.
We don’t want Golf carts on the track.

And who says anybody gets to decide what the goal should be? There’s bracket guidelines sure but there’s tiers to it.
It’s like playing an underplayed character in competitive team games. You can make games as pure as you’d like by only drafting the meta characters on your team and having the truest test of skill as a result. Though it’s just not a reality of what a game’s environment looks like.
I find it hard to imagine a world where what’s accepted to put out as cEDH content is only the type that plays within the decks that we see all the time. Sounds a bit gate-keepy.
Maybe this is a hot take, but I don't think that non-cEDH creators making "cEDH" content with extremely off-meta decks is a helpful tool for new players that are interested in the format
