Tether says 15 crypto mining firms, including Bitmain, Foundry Digital and F2Pool, have backed its Mining Development Kit (MDK). The open-source toolkit aims to make Bitcoin mining infrastructure AI-ready, potentially helping mining operations integrate AI tools and automate workflows. The move highlights the growing overlap between Bitcoin mining and AI, as industry players explore ways to make mining infrastructure more flexible and efficient

CoinDCX has confirmed a $15.99 million loss involving old wallets it had reportedly retired after last year’s hack. The disclosure raises fresh questions about the security of wallets believed to be inactive and whether any exposure remained after the original incident. CoinDCX had previously said recent wallet activity was linked to the 2025 breach, not a new attack on its exchange. The latest confirmation puts the reported loss back in focus

UK consumers submitted 10,092 complaints in just 90 days over banking restrictions on crypto purchases, according to advocacy group Stand With Crypto. The complaints came from 9,800 individuals across all 650 parliamentary constituencies. Lloyds Banking Group received the most complaints at 2,297, followed by Barclays with 1,569 and NatWest Group with 1,278. Some banks impose transaction limits, while others reportedly block crypto transfers altogether. The findings raise questions about the UK's ambition to become a global crypto hub while customers face difficulties funding exchange accounts. However, the figures come from a voluntary complaint tool, not a representative survey, and do not measure complaint rates across each bank's customer base.

A Chinese national has reportedly been extradited from the Netherlands to Los Angeles over an alleged scam operation linked to a Cambodian compound. Investigators say the operation used fake crypto trading websites to target 174 Americans. The case highlights the ongoing threat of crypto investment fraud, where scammers use fake trading platforms to trick victims into sending funds while making their investments appear legitimate. The extradition brings the suspect to the U.S. to face the case. Authorities continue to pursue cross-border crypto fraud networks as online scams increasingly operate across multiple countries.

Malaysia will reportedly retain 322 Bitcoin worth around $27 million seized in connection with the Bitkingdom scam case dating back to 2015–2016. A court has ordered the return of just 176 BTC to nine victims, while the remaining Bitcoin will stay with the Malaysian authorities, according to the report. The case highlights the challenges of recovering crypto assets after alleged fraud, especially when authorities seize funds years after the original incidents. The final outcome leaves a significant portion of the seized Bitcoin outside the victims’ recovery.

The central banks of Malaysia and Thailand have joined Singapore’s BLOOM initiative, which explores the use of stablecoins and tokenized bank deposits for cross-border payments. The initiative aims to make international transactions more efficient by using digital forms of money and blockchain-based infrastructure, potentially reducing friction in cross-border settlements. The move highlights growing interest among Southeast Asian central banks in exploring digital payment systems. Rather than relying only on traditional banking rails, the region is testing how tokenized money could support faster and more connected financial services

At least $369,300 in suspected wallet-drain activity has been flagged by Onchain Lens. The suspected attacker wallet reportedly moved funds to HitBTC and other addresses and received funds from an address linked to the CryptoBillis Ledger Drainer. However, no direct connection to the Railway breach has been confirmed. Railway is a cloud platform that helps developers build, deploy and host applications. The company said an unauthorized third party may have accessed encrypted environment variables and decrypted some of their contents, potentially exposing API keys, database credentials and other sensitive information. Railway has paused deployments while investigating. Railway is urging users to immediately rotate environment-variable secrets, API keys and registry credentials to reduce the risk of further exposure. Users should also review access logs and revoke potentially compromised credentials.

Ripple has launched round-the-clock institutional stock trading through Ripple Prime, expanding access to traditional markets beyond standard trading hours. The move reflects a broader push to make financial markets available around the clock, as digital-asset infrastructure and always-on settlement systems increasingly influence traditional finance. While stock trading has traditionally followed fixed exchange hours, 24/7 access could offer institutions more flexibility to respond to global events. However, availability may depend on the specific assets and trading arrangements supported by the platform.

Germany’s Sparkassen banking network has launched crypto trading through its banking app at selected banks. Customers can initially access Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana and Polygon through the service. The rollout is expected to expand, with around 30–40 additional banks set to join each month. This could make crypto investing accessible to more customers through their existing banking apps. The move highlights how traditional banks are bringing digital assets into mainstream financial services, giving customers another way to access crypto without relying solely on dedicated exchanges.

Michael Saylor's Strategy has purchased another 267 Bitcoin for approximately $22.1 million. The company acquired the BTC between October 12 and October 18, at an average price of around $82,900 per Bitcoin. Following the latest purchase, Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings have reached 848,517 BTC, making it the largest publicly listed corporate holder of Bitcoin. The company has spent approximately $64 billion to accumulate its Bitcoin treasury, with an average purchase price of around $75,446 per BTC. The latest acquisition continues Saylor's long-term Bitcoin accumulation strategy. Strategy has maintained its focus on expanding its BTC reserves while using capital markets to fund purchases. Its holdings now represent more than 4% of Bitcoin's maximum supply of 21 million coins.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin is advocating for “EIP-8288 maximalism,” arguing that computationally heavy cryptographic operations should be handled client-side using STARK proofs rather than added directly to Ethereum’s main chain. The idea is to move complex cryptographic work off-chain while allowing Ethereum to verify the resulting proofs. This could reduce the need to introduce new precompiles — built-in functions that make specific cryptographic operations cheaper for smart contracts. Vitalik’s approach highlights a broader Ethereum design goal: keep the base layer simpler while using cryptographic proofs to handle complex computation. If adopted widely, this could shape how future applications balance security, efficiency and on-chain costs.

The BNB Foundation has completed the 37th quarterly BNB token burn, permanently removing 1,646,196.44 BNB from circulation. The burned tokens were worth approximately $1.197 billion at the time of the burn. Following the burn, BNB’s reported remaining total supply stands at around 131.51 million tokens. The Auto-Burn mechanism is designed to gradually reduce the total supply toward a target of 100 million BNB. The burn took place directly on BNB Smart Chain, with the tokens sent to a designated burn address. While token burns reduce supply, they do not guarantee an increase in BNB’s price.

JPMorgan, one of the world’s largest banking institutions, is expanding its JPM Coin initiative to the Ethereum network. The move highlights the growing interest of traditional financial institutions in blockchain technology for payments and financial settlements. JPM Coin is a blockchain-based deposit token designed to help institutional clients transfer funds using JPMorgan’s banking infrastructure. It allows eligible clients to move money more efficiently, while remaining connected to the bank’s existing deposit system. The expansion could bring JPMorgan’s blockchain-based payment infrastructure closer to Ethereum’s wider ecosystem. With the bank managing trillions of dollars in assets, the move adds to the growing intersection between traditional finance and public blockchain networks.
