In 2014, I could create a crypto wallet through a command line, but I could hardly find anyone around me who understood why I wanted one. There were no easy onboarding screens. No community waiting to explain every step. Just command prompts, PowerShell, scattered forum discussions, and hours spent trying to make sense of something most people had never heard of. I started with mining Bitcoin. Later came Ethereum and Zcash. What began as curiosity became a career and eventually, a responsibility to help others understand what I had struggled to learn alone. I’m Abubakar Mirza, CEO of Hybrid Hub Technologies, a Blockchain Architect and AI Systems Architect working across AI, blockchain, and IoT. But those titles came much later. Before them came a mining setup, unanswered questions, and the determination to build. By 2016–2017, I had built my own centralized crypto exchange. Imagine creating something from scratch, getting it working, and then having to shut it down because the legal and compliance environment in Pakistan made continuing unviable. That was a difficult chapter. Having the technical ability to build something didn’t mean there was a clear path to operate it. I closed the exchange. I wasn’t ready to close that chapter of my life. In December 2017, I joined Binance. I arrived as a builder who still wanted a place in this industry. Binance gave me a way to continue participating while I kept developing my own skills and projects. Then came the years that tested everyone. I watched the excitement of 2017 turn into the long crypto winter of 2018. The conversations grew quieter. People who had been certain about the future suddenly questioned whether crypto had one. Years later, I watched another wave arrive and saw the fear, failures, and uncertainty of 2022 test the industry again. Through those cycles, I learned to ask harder questions. What is actually being built? Who controls the assets? Where does the yield come from? What survives when the excitement disappears? I’ve watched this space move from mining and basic transfers to spot trading, futures, NFTs, meme coins, stablecoins, and tokenized assets. I’ve contributed to established Blockchains including Ethereum, Solana, Cardano etc and continued building through my company, including projects such as BeGreenly and APPX Bot. Binance’s work around AI and Skills helped inspire me to build an AI-based automated trading bot that could work with Binance. That inspiration became part of APPX Bot’s story and seeing it cross $1 million in trading volume on Binance last month was a deeply personal milestone. In 2024, I became a Binance affiliate. On Binance Square, I also helped build a community that means far more to me than a follower count. For over a year, our community has been gathering live at 11 PM Pakistan time. People have come. People have left. A committed core keeps showing up. We discuss markets, explain features, question claims, and help newcomers find their footing. Some arrive with a basic question they feel embarrassed to ask. Those questions deserve patience. I remember being the person searching forums for an answer. That is the part of this journey I’m proudest of. In 2014, I wished someone could sit beside me and explain how this world worked. Today, at 11 PM, we try to be those people for someone else. My Binance journey began in December 2017, but it belongs to a story that started years earlier and now includes people I might never have met otherwise. From mining Bitcoin in Pakistan to building systems, contributing onchain, and sharing what I’ve learned, I’m still following the same curiosity.
