As promised, that bayou game I started building using @threejs inspired by the GTA 6 bayou scene is open source: github.com/Vheissu/emerald-b… has a living world and continues to grow. Alligators, missions, people fishing, other boats, day/night and more.

Imagine explaining to Alan Turing that 80 years after his work helped lay the foundations of modern computing, we'd be impregnating fictional Korean pop stars to save on API costs.
AI K-Pop group 'BABYQUEEN' is facing backlash after its creators "impregnated" one of its members They did it to write her out of the group and manage fewer AI personalities

John Cena could tell me to migrate my entire production infrastructure to PHP 5.6 and I'd ask him whether he wanted it done before lunch.

Philomena: Some people have been writing PHP for over 20 years. Is that because it's particularly difficult to finish? Expert: No, software is constantly evolving. Philomena: So they've been writing the same website for 20 years? Expert: No, different projects. Philomena: Have they tried finishing one before starting another? Expert: That's not how software development works. Philomena: My mate Paul spent 20 years building a shed. Turned out he was just an alcoholic. Expert: Right. Philomena: Is PHP like that?

Lex Fridman interviews a PHP security researcher Lex: My guest today discovered a critical vulnerability in PHP. What is a vulnerability. Researcher: A weakness that allows an attacker to compromise a system. Lex: But aren't we all vulnerable. Researcher: Yes, but Lex: Is love a vulnerability. Researcher: We're talking about remote code execution. Lex: Could an attacker remotely execute love. Researcher: No. Lex: Stalin executed millions. Researcher: What does that have to do with Lex: Do you think Stalin was happy. Researcher: I have absolutely no idea. Lex: Fascinating. We're 3 hours in. Let's talk about consciousness.

Today was my last day at PHP. Unfortunately, the decision was made remotely by someone who wasn't even authenticated.

Geoffrey Hinton should have walked away. Nothing he has said has come true. Most of what he says won't come true. I think he's just lonely and bored to be honest. I feel bad for him. The industry he helped create has eclipsed him and he's lost touch.
The 'Godfather of AI' warns humans "are toast" if we are not nice to bots Professor Geoffrey Hinton believes we should "make them so they really care about us"

Controversial, but we have never forced our children to hug anyone. We have friends who always tell their kids to hug someone hello and goodbye, we always just let our children choose. Doesn't matter if it's family or not. It's good to let them choose.

I've got a banked reset that expires in a day. Maybe time to use ultra and fast. Anyone got any ideas?
Day 17/ Bet you thought we forgot, but no, it’s reset day today. Also good time to remind you to get Daybreak Blue access, it only takes 15 mins and you don’t want to have to do it in the middle of an incident.

Why did everyone decide in the last 24 hours to try and take down the internet? I love Railway, I use it for a lot of projects including client projects. This is a massive PITA, but also par for the course. This is going to happen more frequently going into 2027.

Nothing is original. It happened to art. It happened tomusic. It happened to cinema. It happened to architecture. Now it's gaming. When was the last time you heard a song that was truly original or saw a movie or a building that was unique? It is what it is.
Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Super Smash Bros. and Kirby, is warning that AI could lead to a flood of unoriginal games. Sakurai points out that Steam has gone from around 275 game releases a year in 2010 to more than 19,000 today “AI can create games, but it can’t create something truly original.” Sakurai also argues that originality means creating something players don’t even know they want yet. He uses Fumito Ueda as an example, saying AI could imitate the style of games like ICO or Shadow of the Colossus, but it wouldn’t know what Ueda himself would create next.
