Kane, Yamal and Mbappé being in the Ballon d’Or conversation tells you how much a player’s environment matters. Kane got far more recognition after moving from the Premier League to Bayern, where he can rack up numbers in a dominant team. Haaland has been phenomenal at City, yet rarely gets serious Ballon d’Or consideration beyond his treble-winning season. The Premier League’s intensity, tougher competition and packed schedule make it harder for attackers to inflate their stats and win individual awards. Sometimes, where you play matters almost as much as how good you are.

Jadon Sancho reportedly being offered €10,000 a week by Getafe, just 4% of his Man United salary, after allegedly rejecting nearly £200k a week at Chelsea. United babysit players like Sancho, Rashford and Garnacho until they feel entitled. Leave Old Trafford, and reality hits hard. Life humbles you quickly.

We need to talk about Lamine Yamal’s record in big games. He destroys weaker La Liga sides, but when elite opposition shows up, his impact often disappears. Real Madrid tightened their defence, and he was completely shut down. People rate him as the best in the world based on entertainment, ignoring efficiency. Being entertaining isn’t the same as being decisive.

Manchester United’s toxic mentality is infecting every new signing. Players like Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Baleba can arrive hungry, work hard and give everything, only to get dragged down by the laziness and entitlement already embedded in this squad. United need a massive clear-out. Maguire, Bruno, Lisandro, Shaw, Dalot, Mazraoui and others need to make way for hungry players under a competent, preferably Spanish, tactician. You cannot rebuild a winning culture while protecting the players who keep destroying it.

Mbappé gets the headlines, but Aurélien Tchouaméni WON this game for Real Madrid. I’ve been critical of him all season, but tonight’s performance was WORLD-CLASS. He was an absolute general in midfield, going toe-to-toe with technical monsters like Pedri and Rodri and coming out on top. A five-star performance. I’m genuinely proud of him!

Luis Enrique gave the football world the blueprint to beat Barcelona, and José Mourinho took it to another level. I said it before the match: Real Madrid needed more than tactics. They had to FIGHT like it was a Champions League final, and they delivered. Mourinho will be one of the happiest men alive right now. These are the nights he lives for.
