Spamming all my new pig teaching material with pictures of my old piggies 🐷 A particular favourite that looks like piglet jail, but is to emphasise the importance of a safe, heated space designed only for neonates…
Being asked to provide graduate students with job references reminds me of all the wonderful people that provided me with references, that led me to where I am ❤️. Definitely one of those pay it forward moments. Exciting times for our class of 2023 🐥🐮🐷🐑🐶🐱
I’m at the stage now where I’ll be teaching first year students and watching their progress to final year. However, today I was reminded that it’s just as rewarding to watch the progression of a student from the start of a session to the end. Great farmer feedback too 🐄🐮

Question to the people of Twitter.
Does anyone know if there is funding available for building a classroom/meeting room on farm like the image below? ⬇️⬇️⬇️
We have permissions just wondering if there is help available? Please retweet and any advice welcome.
Thanks in advance – at Little Strickland, England

Eldest daughters entry into the school extreme reading competition. Proud to say she won 🥰
The more I tinker around in the scary world of bioinformatics, the more I realise a lot of the errors I encounter are from dumb ass things I type…but I’m feeling positive that I am at least able to navigate back out of these errors! 🤣🤦🏼♀️
Assessing first year students during ewe epidural OSCEs today and I tell you what…it’s beyond rewarding to see so many students brilliantly demonstrate the thing back to you that you’ve taught them 😊 #VetEd #lovemyjob
The day the boy walked into my office and laughed at the amount of animal things on everyone’s desks!…his office has a wall of shame and this is a new addition he failed to tell me about 🤣
Had the best afternoon teaching pig handling. The students that couldn’t handle the live pigs at a given time also really enjoyed my ikea piglet toys, practicing injection sites and handling. @e_drinkall I feel squealing devices now need sewing in and you’d be the person for it

I want to give a massive shout out to all the helpful people that take it upon themselves to create step by step guides on YouTube for bioinformatics 🤣 for IT challenged people like me! Slowly getting this PhD done 💪🏻 #PhD
Right now I’m juggling lecturing, PGCHE, PhD, and planning a surprise party for the Mr….the latter is proving the most stressful. Why have I decided to turn our house into a candy themed escape room 🤷🏼♀️

A big thank you to @uttoxeterjames again for his delicious homemade honey. My man is down with a cold so I’m on hot toddy duties
He said the secret to forgiving me being a nightmare this weekend was definitely this maple chilli, smoked bacon wrapped meatloaf #LocallySourcedMeat #FarmShop #BackBritishFarming
Everyone I know has the January blues and I’m sat here the most motivated I’ve been in years. It’s certainly a BUSY year, and I’m finally finding (and enjoying) that work/PhD/private life balance. Finally feeling like the pre-pandemic Alice again! #phdlife #motivated #work
Bf: how was work
Me: productive lab morning and a great afternoon with final year vet students, on farm, teaching them skills

One more day of work, but early morning hamper making is getting me festive (& leftover homemade sour cherry stollen bites 🤤) #MerryChristmas everyone
