Two-Rock Amplifiers, 1999-2026 1999 - Bill Krinard and Joe Mloganoski establish K&M Analog Designs in Northern California. The first 11 K&M amplifiers are produced over approximately 16 months, beginning April 4, 1999. The Two-Rock name derives from the nearby Sonoma County community. 1999-2001 - The Emerald 50 enters production in October 1999, followed by the Sapphire 100, Amethyst and Emerald Pro. Early production includes ~125 Emerald 50s, 17 Sapphire 100s and ~70 Emerald Pros. The Topaz appears in July 2001, with 47 produced. 2000-2006 - The company develops the Opal, Custom Reverb and related designs. The Custom Reverb Signature becomes a principal model family, combining clean and overdrive channels, extensive EQ controls and tube-driven spring reverb. The Steve Kimock Signature arrives in December 2006, incorporating an unusual octal preamplifier design. 2007 - The John Mayer Signature appears in March. Limited to 25 individually signed amplifiers, it features 100W output, four 6L6 power tubes, a single channel, contour control, all-tube spring reverb and gunmetal-gray carbon-fiber covering. 2007 - The Classic Reverb appears in October, providing a single-channel platform with FET boost and extensive tone shaping. Later Classic Reverb Signature models expand its configurations and controls. 2009 - The 10th Anniversary series commemorates the company’s first decade. The anniversary models include distinct 50W and 100W configurations. 2010 - The TS1, inspired by the Dumble Overdrive Special tradition, joins the lineup. The Studio Pro introduces a smaller clean platform. Premier Builders Guild acquires Two-Rock in November. 2016 - Eli Lester and Mac Skinner acquire the company and rebuild its manufacturing operations and product lineup, emphasizing quality control, custom transformers and high-headroom amplification. 2017-2020s - The revived lineup develops around the Classic Reverb Signature, Bloomfield Drive, Traditional Clean and other models. The Bloomfield Drive provides two-channel cascading gain, tone-stack bypass and tube-driven spring reverb. 2020s - The Silver Sterling Signature offers 100/50W 6L6 and 150/75W 6550 versions. The Studio Signature provides a compact 35W 6L6-powered platform. Two-Rock designs reflect Fender and Dumble influences without simply reproducing either.
