Wonderful news: Murera has given birth to a baby girl this morning! Her daughter entered the world bathed in the light of a near-full moon, perfect in every way. We’ve named her Mwezi, which means moon in Swahili. Murera chose to give birth in her stockade, the place that has been her nighttime sanctuary all these years. Her delivery couldn’t have been more seamless – in fact, by the time the Keepers heard the rumbles and rushed to her side, it was all over! Mother and baby are doing very well, while Mwana is already proving to be an excellent and attentive big sister. More to come, but we're filled with joy and wanted to share Mwezi’s first moments with you. (Word is already out amongst the elephants – this morning, every wild-living Umani orphan showed up to meet the newest member of their family!) Westbrook did all of this and is an MVP, 2x scoring champ, 3x assist champ. Russ is top 5 by a point guard in every statistical category. Why is Russ a part of this conversation at all? He did all this playing mostly off ball his last 3-4 seasons. Russ among PGs: Clutch FGs: 1st 4th quarter points: 2nd Clutch assists: 3rd Points: 2nd Assists: 4th Rebounds: 1st Steals: 6th Blocks: 5th Triple Doubles: 1st Double doubles: 2nd Russ adapted his game more than any Star point guard that I can remember. And still accomplished all of this.
