Climate Risks to the Cypriot Economy and Adaptation Investment Needs Climate risk is increasingly shaping economic and fiscal planning, but effective adaptation depends on how clearly risks are assessed, prioritised and translated into investment decisions. At #CyprusForum2026, this fireside discussion will examine how Cyprus can strengthen its approach to climate-risk assessment and adaptation financing, while identifying the infrastructure, policy and investment priorities needed to reduce future economic exposure. The conversation will bring together perspectives on climate economics, public investment, fiscal planning and resilience, with a focus on how adaptation can move from fragmented responses towards a more coordinated and evidence-based approach. Speaker: Andreas Charalambous — Chairperson, Fiscal Council of Cyprus Chair: Theodoros Zachariadis — Professor and Acting Director of the Energy Environment and Water Research Centre, The Cyprus Institute (@CyprusInstitute) Knowledge Partner: The Cyprus Institute (@CyprusInstitute) The discussion forms part of the European project ACCREU – Assessing Climate Change Risk in Europe. 📅 29 September 2026 🕓 16:15–17:00 📍 Aphrodite Room, The Landmark Nicosia #CyprusForum2026 #ClimateRisk
