A4: APRs have a language and mindset that set them apart. Your level of thinking is on display with every word and every action you take. Everyone notices even if they don't know what the three letters are! #k12prchat
A3: tactics is the stuff you do every day. This is the guts of the campaign. The stuff. It's what everyone wants when they first come to you (the video, the brochure etc...) #k12prchat
A2: HonestIy had no strategy. I just sort of did it. I attended the APR boot camp @nspra in 2015 and then just did it as part of our planning for the bond. I passed my panel and the forgot about it until 3 weeks before my timeline expired. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️Tip: don't do that! #k12prchat

A6: my Supt does a monthly video to staff and every time he tells them he loves them. Staff know he cares about them as people. He also takes photos with them at every large scale gathering and we feature those in our internal newsletter. #k12prchat #suptchat
The Comms folks are sometimes the voice of reason. Something may sound good for a strategic plan but isn't always realistic. The comms team can give the community perspective and make sure the strategies match the goals and can be evaluated. #k12prchat #suptchat

A4: in a crisis is when you see what your relationship is really made of. Stress brings out the best and worst in people. The relationship will either make the crisis bearable or create chaos if it's not going well. Trust is crucial #k12prchat
Honesty, support and open communication. Having hard conversations about actions, interactions and reactions. Innovate together and try new things without the fear of failing. Constant improvement and learning from each other. #k12prchat #suptchat

We meet every week for an update and also to review the board newsletter. We honor each others' time. I also don't bug him with trivial stuff so if I call or text randomly he knows it's because I need something. #k12prchat

A1: My Supt is our biggest cheerleader. He advocated for a $1m marketing campaign for our organization and we get that annually now. He knows communications is important and he supports us every day with it. That's why he's the 2022 TSPRA Key Communicator of the Year! #k12prchat
