Dallas Baptist University is excited to announce the launch of STAND FIRM. STAND OUT., a $60 million capital campaign benefiting @CarterSchoolDBU! We feel no business leader should have to choose between a candidate with an exceptional education or one with the heart of a servant leader—each is essential, and every single graduate should embody both.   The time is now for DBU to take bold steps to become a catalyst for that change. Join us as we equip and empower the next generation of servant leaders to stand firm and stand out.   The STAND FIRM. STAND OUT. campaign aims to raise funds for a new academic building to house the Carter School of Business, as well as student scholarships, program development, and faculty support.   StandFirmStandOut.com DBU.edu #DBUStandFirmStandOut

From the classroom to New York City! DBU students recently headed to NYC for an unforgettable learning experience, with three different classes exploring the city through the worlds of finance and investing, sports management, and fine arts. Students became "site experts" for different stops throughout the city and had the opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals at J.P. Morgan, Moody's, and the New York Stock Exchange. From touring the NYSE with a floor trader to hearing from professionals about their careers and paths to success, students got to see what they've been learning in the classroom come to life in one of the world's largest financial centers.

This week, DBU was honored to host the 2026 Global Religious Freedom Gathering, bringing together Christians, religious liberty advocates, and leaders from around the world for a meaningful day of prayer, fellowship, and conversation. Throughout the gathering, attendees had the opportunity to hear from distinguished speakers and experts who shared their experiences and insights on religious persecution and the importance of protecting religious freedom for all. The conversations encouraged us to learn more, pray for those facing persecution, and consider how we can stand with the persecuted in our own churches, schools, and communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to host this important gathering at DBU and to be part of a day that reminded us of the power of prayer, the importance of serving others, and our calling as Christians to be a witness to God’s love for all people. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today’s gathering such a meaningful experience.

Keeping DBU Christ-centered means we recognize that apart from Christ we can do nothing good. Therefore, we maintain a healthy commitment to understanding that He is our lifeline, our everything. No matter the obstacles or challenges before us, or however lofty our vision may be, there remains an unrelenting dedication to our persistence in coming to work every day fearing God, keeping His commands, and faithfully obeying His lordship and leadership over His university. This morning our students had See You at the Quad—an opportunity for our students to come together and pray for each other, for spiritual growth, community, healing, and for provision and protection.

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation changed forever. We pause to remember those taken from us on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of those who ran toward the danger. We remember the strength and unity shown in the days that followed, and we hold firmly to the hope we have in Christ. #NeverForget “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

A moment of worship, testimony, and a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness. This summer, DBU's Dean of the Bush College of Education, Dr. Hagan, joined DBU student London Smith in Washington, D.C., for Rededicate 250, a gathering on the National Mall centered on prayer, worship, and a call to rededicate the nation to God. For Dr. Hagan, the day brought Hebrews 12 to mind: “since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses.” Surrounded by pastors, political leaders, nonprofit leaders, students, worship leaders, and thousands of others gathered with one purpose, she was struck by the sight of so many people united in praise to Jesus Christ. For London, Rededicate 250 was the culmination of a deeply personal journey of seeing God’s faithfulness throughout the past year. On July 4, 2025, in the middle of difficult circumstances, she chose to trust in God’s power, sovereignty, and goodness, holding onto the truth that He is a good Father. Months later, before she even knew she would be part of Rededicate 250, London felt the Lord impress the words “fear not” on her heart. Then, in April, while writing in her journal that God could provide far beyond anything she could imagine for her life, she received the call inviting her to share part of her testimony in Washington, D.C., on May 17th, her 20th birthday. “Each moment this year that has led up to Rededicate 250 has been miraculously orchestrated by God,” London shared. “His message to us, His children, is that He loves us deeply, and above every other thing, He is a good, good Father.” One of the most meaningful moments came as Chris Tomlin sang “Good Good Father.” London looked around at thousands of people worshiping together and was reminded that, despite every difference, believers are united as one body with the same King and Creator. Dr. Hagan was especially moved by watching London share her story with strength and humility, describing her as an example of God’s transformational work in the lives of DBU students. Dr. Hagan described the day in one word: “Movement,” praying that Rededicate 250 would continue to fan the flame of revival across America. London chose the word “Glory.” “None of this is because of us. It is all because of Him,” London said. “Our God gets all of the glory.” As they start the Fall semester, they both carry with them a renewed confidence in God’s Word, His goodness, and the call to live boldly for Christ wherever He leads.

This summer, Madison interned with Austin Industries – Austin Commercial in the accounting department, where her responsibilities changed every month. She would begin the month working on departmental analysis, then move into the job cost process, which made up the bulk of her work. Toward the end of the month, Madison focused on mid-year forecasting and budgeting for the three departments she was assigned to. “I was assigned three projects to focus on over the summer, which was really fun to be a part of an ongoing and active construction project. Mid-year forecasting was one of my favorites! This was all about budgeting for the three departments I was assigned to, and I learned so much about the thought process behind budgeting.” Along the way, Madison strengthened her knowledge of Excel, accounting, and the construction industry, while also growing in communication and professionalism. “I have learned how important it is to ask questions, and Austin has created such a welcoming and encouraging environment that I never felt like a burden asking questions. I am much more confident in myself talking and relating to higher ups and professionals.” From learning the financial side of active construction projects to spending lunch with fellow interns, Madison’s summer at Austin Commercial was filled with plenty of new experiences and opportunities to grow.

Yesterday was National Sisters Day, and we’re celebrating with the Eidson sisters! Ericka and Emma are DBU alumni, while Abby is beginning her sophomore year at DBU. Abby shares, "Getting to attend DBU with my sisters is something I’ll always be grateful for. It was the first time in our lives that all three of us were attending the same school at the same time. Having them here made my first year even more meaningful, and I’m so glad I get to experience this season of life with them. These are memories I’ll forever cherish!!"

This past week, a group of DBU students traveled to Toronto, Canada, to attend the annual Baptist World Alliance gathering and meet with business leaders throughout the region. Through conference sessions, classroom discussions, and conversations with Christian professionals, students explored how faith can shape leadership, conflict resolution, and service in the workplace. They also had the opportunity to experience the city of Toronto, learn more about its culture, visit local landmarks, and spend meaningful time together outside of the conference. Gathering with believers from around the world offered a powerful reminder of the unity of the Church and the impact of Christ-centered leadership across cultures and professions. We are grateful for the faculty, alumni, and friends of the University who helped make this valuable experience possible.

Some of our students just arrived home from Spain, where they spent a week partnering with our friends at Alfa y Omega Colegio and helped put on a week of America-themed camp activities for elementary students. We're so thankful to be able to cultivate a culture of outreach that encourages students to serve faithfully, love generously, and make an impact beyond University Hill.
