This week on The Digital Pulse, we sat down with @DBatesSafety and Luciana D’Adderio to ask how AI is transforming diagnosis.
We got into why AI may reverse the traditional diagnostic process, whether clinicians can resist automation bias when the AI answer arrives first, what trainees lose if they never learn on legacy imaging, and how patients using AI at home are changing the doctor-patient relationship.
And whether the doctor’s job is to make the diagnosis—or verify it.

A new @OhioState study suggests illicit use of fentanyl in the US is more than twice as common as medically based use. The study also shows illicit exposure is linked to a much higher risk of opioid-related harmful outcomes than medical-source exposure. news.osu.edu/illicit-fentany…

A new analysis in Science of more than 116,000 bird songs has revealed that the astonishing variety of passerine birdsong is built from just eight basic acoustic motifs, like trills, whistles, and harmonic notes.
The findings also reveal that local environments greatly shape how birds communicate around the world. Learn more: scim.ag/4wYoVXE
Chris Koller spoke today at BWH grand rounds. Financing for primary care is insufficient, and this level of support has been going down. Access has gotten much worse. The Massachusetts Senate has passed a bill that would require institutions to spend 15% on primary care.
