We would like to take a moment to highlight our leader @jillzwicker and her large team, without whom #DCD14 would not have been possible. Thank you for providing the opportunities to connect, learn, teach, and advocate for the growing #DCD community!
The word is out… DCD-15 will be hosted by the Universities in Belgium in #Ghent 2024!

Many calls to raise awareness about DCD @DCD_14. As a starting researcher at @ugent_fge on this disorder I want to contribute to that. Who should we be adressing this call to in Belgium? And how can we get this as an impactfull message to the policy makers involved?
Policy Matters!
Individuals and their families can have a big impact on research and changing policy. Early investment and an inclusive approach for people with developmental disabilities is crucial and can have huge implications for benefiting those affected downstream.

Couldn't agree more w/ @jillzwicker-we MUST think about economic policy impacts!
But we must do this bi-directionally. Financial limitations to researchers from lower income countries participating in #DCD k/ledge exchange=real concern. Missed opps for equity advocacy?

Such an insightful keynote @DCD_14 from Jennifer Zwicker - I have a feeling I'll be spending much time revisiting these slides and thinking about how best to apply this valuable learning.
Thank you @jdzwicker

Fantastic #DCD14 keynote by @jdzwicker - how we better advocate from a public policy perspective. Reinforces for me the need to: better consider intersectionality & have more focus on mental well-being (ie, beyond MH deficits). @DCD_14 @JohnCairney68 @SKDowling @MaeghanJames
Honoured to have Dr. Jennifer Zwicker as a keynote to shed some light on the impact research has on informed policy development.

Absolutely! When systems make it so hard to access developmental support, we can't ignore how this impacts service-users' strategic health care decision making
