'Plato O Plomo.' Wow such a riveting read! To me, a biography of Colombian Football - of hope & despair, dollars & dread, courage & crime, death & dignity. Thank you @DCFArrowsmith

Me trying to focus on getting stuff done while ignoring the posts about anthropic and the seemingly growing chance that AI will end humanity within my lifetime… not gonna lie, it’s not easy!

A key moment in my book Narcoball, and also a turning point for Argentina and Maradona as chronicled in my newest Killing Maradona…

Diego faced some of the best defenders in the history of the game. Baresi was one of the very few who could get close to Maradona w/out having to resort to committing felony assault. A fitting tribute from one great to another. I hope they are kicking a ball together in the sky.

💔⚽️RIP Franco Baresi, truly one of the best to play the game. Captain of an all-time great AC Milan side for one of history’s most interesting but forgotten matches, the 1989 Intercontinental Cup against Colombia’s Atlético Nacional in Tokyo, a story told in my book Narcoball.

Many aren’t aware that Colombia was chosen to host World Cup ‘86 but returned hosting rights ahead of a FIFA delegation inspection as the country struggled financially, politically & with security + infrastructure during Pablo Escobar’s war on the state. Read about in Narcoball.
