📣 JUST ANNOUNCED: @CBP is extending the compliance date for new int’l mail requirements by 90 days, to 1/20/27.
Importers and brokers now have extra time to prepare for Entry Type 13 advance data requirements. This will allow filers to update their processes, while minimizing interruptions to international mail for Americans.

CBP is pausing all construction activity in Big Bend National Park while I visit and conduct a personal, on-the-ground evaluation.
CBP is firmly committed to protecting America, and that includes our national treasures like Big Bend National Park (BBNP). We know the current and predictable national security threats and they are real. Now over the next couple of days, I will join a small team to evaluate the terrain and listen to local leadership, community members and stakeholders to ensure that we secure our borders while simultaneously protecting BBNP for generations to come.

.@CBP mourns the loss of Border Patrol Agent Sean M. McDonough.
BPA McDonough started his CBP career in 2007. He recently served at the Wellesley Island Border Patrol Station, Buffalo Sector in New York. He also served in Nogales Station and in Houlton Sector. BPA McDonough also served in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, and as a Military Police Officer.
He is a true hero who selflessly served to protect America.
As a CBP family, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of BPA McDonough.

During a secondary vehicle inspection at the Hidalgo, TX port of entry CBP officers discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant. Further inspection revealed 66.71lbs of cocaine hidden within the vehicle. The drugs have an estimated value over $890K. The driver was arrested and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Attention Green Card Holders: Having a criminal history does not make you an upstanding lawful permanent resident. Possessing a green card is a privilege, not a right. Under our nation’s laws, our government has the authority to revoke your green card if our laws are broken and abused. In addition to immigration removal proceedings, lawful permanent residents presenting at a U.S. port of entry with previous criminal convictions may be subject to mandatory detention.
