The Bayeux Tapestry is being harnessed by local groups for community building, and by political parties for points scoring. Amazing how an 11th-century embroidery still holds such sway historyextralifelessons.subs…

Most of the time I interview other people for @historyextra podcast, but sometimes people interview me, like this chat I had for the Intelligence Squared podcast (guess what - it's on the Bayeux Tapestry) podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

This is epic stuff from Peter.
I've written about what is by far today's most important news story: the return of the remains of Tsar Samuel to Bulgaria. 1/5

Really enjoyed chatting to Mia Hansson for @historyextra pod. She has been stitching a replica Bayeux Tapestry for ten years. Fascinating what we can learn about the original embroidery from her experience. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

I'm not particularly interested in radiators, but I am interested in modern reuses of the Bayeux Tapestry.
Turns out Rad has been part of history all along! 🐴⚔️😄 Spotted riding into battle in the Bayeux Tapestry at the British Museum, we're not sure if he was Norman or Saxon, but he definitely dodged the arrows! 🏹😂 Keep sharing your #RadTheLad snaps! 🌍 #BayeuxTapestry #Stelrad

Would anyone like to have an argument with me on social media? I'm only willing to do it in the spirit of a medieval Irish monk though, as per my recent 'Life Lessons from History' podcast with the brilliant Elizabeth Boyle.
