January 26, 2025 — Wilquin Melo Marte, a 37-year-old Dominican national, was arrested by federal agents in Barrio Obrero, San Juan, Puerto Rico, after being identified as an individual wanted by authorities in the Dominican Republic in connection with a double homicide. The arrest highlights the importance of cooperation and information sharing among domestic and international law enforcement partners in locating individuals wanted for serious crimes.

25 Year-Old Man Indicted and Arrested for Child Exploitation On September 23, 2026, a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Faustino David Reyes-Rodriguez, 25, of Ponce, PR residing in Caguas, with possession, receipt and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The arrest follows an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (@HSI_HQ) with the assistance of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau (@PRPDNoticias) and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Puerto Rico (@USAO_PR). According to the indictment, from in or about December 2025 to May 2026, Reyes-Rodriguez knowingly received and distributed child exploitation material. Man Sentenced to 260 Months in Prison for Sexual Exploitation of a 2-year-old Female Minor On October 21, 2026, United States District Court Judge Aida Delgado Colón sentenced Angel Javier Santos-Méndez to 260 months (21 years and 8 months) in prison followed by 20 years of supervised release for child exploitation charges against a female minor victim. Santos-Méndez, 34, from Caguas, PR, was indicted on October 30, 2025, arrested on November 5, 2025, and pleaded guilty on April 16, 2026. According to court documents, on September 22, 2025, Ángel Javier Santos-Méndez knowingly employed, used, and coerced his 2-year-old female minor daughter to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depictions of such conduct. "Defenseless children may not have a voice, but they are not helpless. This individual abused his own 2-year-old daughter to produce child sexual abuse material, a heinous act that demands accountability," said Yariel Ramos, Acting Special Agent in Charge, HSI San Juan. HSI is vigilant and will protect children who were not protected by the very people responsible for their care. This sentence sends a clear message: HSI and our law enforcement partners will relentlessly pursue offenders and hold them accountable so they won't hurt one more victim." @HSI_HQ

WANTED FOR MURDER. LOCATED IN PUERTO RICO. ARRESTED. Ana Tahiri Acevedo Brito, who was wanted in the Dominican Republic on a murder arrest warrant and was the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice, was arrested today in Puerto Rico by Homeland Security Investigations (@HSI_HQ) special agents, in collaboration with the @USMarshalsHQ and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). After allegedly entering Puerto Rico unlawfully, Acevedo Brito obtained employment as a caregiver in a private residence, where she is also suspected of engaging in the financial exploitation of elderly individuals. As the investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), HSI continues to work closely with federal and international law enforcement partners to locate and apprehend individuals wanted for serious crimes and protect our communities. Keeping our families safe is a shared responsibility.
