Ushakov adds that Western Europe must also be involved in Ukraine peace negotiations (this is a major shift in Kremlin positioning). “After Anchorage, there was an impression that the American administration could dictate something and make Kiev comply, but so far, that hasn’t worked.” “It’s not enough to talk only to Kiev, we need to talk to all of Europe, which fully supports Kiev, perhaps [Western] Europe’s position is of crucial importance here.”
Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov has cautioned against expecting significant results from the first Russia-US-Ukraine meeting following the prolonged break in negotiations. “You won’t resolve much at the first meeting, it will probably be more of an exploratory meeting,” he said. Ushakov added that Moscow would be ready to resume talks after 4 November, while warning that considerable work remained before a peace agreement could be reached.

Come i forconi e altre rivolte manovrate.

[...]" ilpost.it/2019/10/06/voto-ai…

Of course, the smoking gun is a 4 years old report of what a guy said while looking at underwater drone footage. Not the full report made by half dozen of experts in a real court
By the way, claims that the Nordstream blast was the work of amateurs on a small yacht are rather undermined by this November 2022 report by the BBC's Katya Adler, in which it is clear that the explosion was huge - enough to hurl the steel and concrete pipeline as much as 20 feet upwards from the seabed. '"Look at that, Katya," he jabbed excitedly at the laptop we had balanced in our narrow ship's cabin, which was live-streaming images captured by the drones. "Part of the pipe has shot four, five, maybe six metres straight upwards, at the point where it was blown apart. "Now we can see how the concrete has blasted off, showing jagged edges of the steel underneath - 45 millimetres of steel flattened, ripped straight out. The speed, the force, the explosion must have been huge."' bbc.co.uk/news/world-6363618…

Zelensky first agreed to a ceasefire along the current frontline in the summer of 2025. Why so many keen observers of Ukraine are convinced this is something new is beyond me

our research team just came back from a research mission along a border region in an African country. They came across an elephant and park rangers warned them to keep at a distance. The elephant was locally known as “Putin”, given its inclination to charge and attack unprovoked.
us special envoy steve witkoff to president putin: “you talk so much about my president, president trump, being a humanitarian. you are a humanitarian also, sir, and i salute that.” truly hard to watch.

A major achievement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2026 has been stabilizing the frontline, creating the conditions for localized counterattacks while inflicting relatively high rates of attrition on Russian forces. This has been enabled by a more flexible defensive posture under the new commander-in-chief. Unmanned warfare, including mid-range strike systems, has played an important role in all of this, helping degrade Russian combat power. Recent restrictions have reduced the effectiveness of a core element of Ukraine’s defense system. Unless this is resolved quickly, Ukraine risks losing hard-won gains from 2026, not to mention the impact on its cities and critical infrastructure.

NAZA has become an extraordinary box-office success in Meloni's Italy. It has grossed nearly €5 million, accounting for more than half of its worldwide earnings, after initially being scheduled for just three days in cinemas. It prompted distributors to extend its run, and it continued to outperform heavily promoted commercial releases. This happens in the same country whose government refuses to talk about sanctions and it's heavily pushing an illiberal law based on the IHRA definition. But what a difference with, say, Germany.

My friend Vlad Starodubtsev, a Ukrainian veteran and historian, was beaten up in Lviv today by a group of far-right thugs for trying to give a history lecture. According to Social Movement, a Ukrainian democratic socialist organization, about 20 of them attacked him in broad daylight, just before the talk was supposed to start at the group's office near Lviv University. The lecture was on the history of the labor and socialist movement in Galicia. This is an attack on the freedom of speech that journalists, academics and activists depend on. It's vital that attention be drawn to this issue so that authorities take appropriate action. If you are journalist reading this, please consider covering it, and following up with authorities. "Civilian casualties in Ukraine jumped by 85% in September as Russia increased drone and missile attacks, according to the United Nations. At least 328 civilians were killed and 2,105 injured in attacks last month, UN human rights monitors said in their monthly report on Friday. It was the highest September total since the start of Russia’s 2022 full-scale invasion, with missiles and drones the main cause of casualties, they said." bloomberg.com/news/articles/… ukraine.ohchr.org/en/Protect…
