It’s Sorting Day at Ellsworth Dansby Jr. Magnet School! Inspired by the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, every student is welcomed into a house—creating a family within the school where belonging, teamwork, school spirit, and a little friendly competition come together.
Decatur Public Schools solemnly remembers the lives lost in the attacks on September 11, 2001. We honor their families, friends, and all those who continue to carry the pain of that tragic day. We will never forget their sacrifice, their courage, or the lasting impact of 9/11.
A reminder for families and fans: new safety measures will be in place for the MacArthur Varsity Football Game tonight. High school students must bring their student ID. Younger students must be accompanied by an adult.
Superintendent Moody visited the Social Emotional Learning Academy (SELA) last week and came back for her special order of Iced Peppermint Tea. The SELA students work in collaboration with staff to take, make and deliver orders to staff every Friday. Check it out!
UDPATE: Due to the heat, Eisenhower High School's JV Football Game on 8/31/26 has been pushed back to 7:00pm.
