Final note: the sad piano song in the Casper movie gets me every time

Going through DVD extras and saw this deleted scene. They filmed the entirety of this scene but couldn't afford the CG, so had to cut it. Feels like a fun exercise for animators to add the ghosts back in.

Casper. This movie is the perfect vertical slice of 90s movies. Tween intrigue with the school dance. But also adult melancholy with the dead wife. But also toys and giant rube goldberg sets for the kiddies. I find something new to appreciate with this movie on every rewatch
The Haunted Mask. Maddi Gonzalez does an excellent job adapting the story. All the little manga-inspired reaction faces are great, as is the attention to detail (behind the scenes mention how the mask's ears are modeled after the 90s Goosebumps "G")
X. Aka what a loveless marriage does to an old lady. Does the horror minimum of having something interesting to say with its horror, but also idk if I'd watch it again. Interested enough to at least see the prequel though (very weird that any A24 movie would have one)
