Years ago a friend wouldn’t believe me when I told him that C. S. Lewis wrote a few stories for the “pulps”—the magazines that specialized in sensational science fiction and fantasy in the 40s and 50s. He wouldn’t believe it even when I cited the stories and the magazines. He felt it was beneath Lewis’s dignity. I’ve run across the same thing when it comes to the aficionados of high culture who can’t accept that people prefer manga and graphic novels to Dante. They’d rather curse the world and die than stoop to reading The Watchmen or learning about One Piece. I get it, and then again I don’t. Perhaps these folks should read Lewis’s essays on literature—especially, An Experiment in Criticism.

CABLE! Here’s the truth, FOX had big plans for Cable, Josh knew it, his rep’s knew it. X-Force film by Drew Goddard. I spoke with Drew about the film, everyone was psyched. Disney did not favor those plans, despite all that talent.
