You just know that this will end up being weaponised and won’t be applied consistently.
I live in Gosport. Gosport is a Naval town and a lot of the local Weatherspoons customers are ex Navy, or people who have friends and relatives that have served in the Navy. This was was a huge mistake. I won't be using the place until a full and public apology is issued.

Astounding Sunday Times investigation reveals new scandal in SNP’s Socialist Scotland:
800 NHS, central government, council and quango workers whose jobs no longer exist but remain on the public payroll because of the SNP’s ‘no public-sector redundancy’ policy.
Estimated cost of paying people to do nothing: £27m a year.
One NHS Highland worker has been receiving a full salary and benefits for 17 years despite not having a specific job.
The health board refused to say what the worker had been doing for almost two decades and how much they had been paid.
Likely cost to the taxpayer is expected to be far higher with several public bodies refusing to disclose salaries for hundreds of the workers awaiting redeployment.

I think Tim Martin ( Wetherspoons) will not be pleased at this misunderstanding of what the poppy symbol means
It is NOT political
It's a symbol of when politics unites out of respect for the fallen

Poppies.
A symbol of remembrance.
Nothing remotely political.
Don’t want to wear one? Then don’t.
Put don’t penalise those who do.
This is peak absurdity.
This is mad. No poppies in a pub?!
George is joining me at 9.45pm on @GBNEWS to talk through the incident.

I’ve never seen this happen before. A Wetherspoons in Gosport didn’t allow them in because they were wearing Remembrance poppies since it "could be political."
That is nonsense. The remembrance poppy is a well known apolitical symbol.
Not right at all.

When Reform's letters to postal voters in Portsmouth were ready to go out, two undercover ITV reporters were personally responsible for almost two hundred of them in the ward of Drayton and Farlington.
Reform lost Drayton and Farlington by 24 votes.
The same two men were responsible for delivering leaflets to half the ward of Baffins.
Reform lost Baffins by 85 votes.
These were men whose purpose was to infiltrate Reform UK and damage it.
In two wards decided by a few dozen votes, we believe there are reasonable grounds to conclude that ITV altered the result of British elections.
There is no precedent for this.
It is certainly not journalism.
We believe it to be criminal.
We will hold ITV and its activists to account.
