Biden was actually good for the stock market.
Rates were heading lower. Inflation was coming down.
The 10-year was at 3.96%. Gas was in the 3’s.
If Trump had just fixed the border, which most Americans wanted, and left everything else alone, we’d probably be doing a lot better right now.
Instead we got tariff which have been an unmitigated disaster.
Yes, the stock market is doing okay, but it could be doing so much better.
And here’s the thing: we personalize economics onto presidents when it’s mostly situational.
Bush Sr. got blamed for a recession from the Gulf War. Clinton got credit for a recovery that was probably just cyclical.
This time though is self-inflicted. The president has inflicted self-harm on the economy.

Peter Schiff argues Beijing sees gold as stronger backing for its currency than US debt, and China brought in $158.8 billion in gold imports in the first eight months of this year alone.
As China trades less with the US, he says its reason to keep holding dollars keeps shrinking.

Builder confidence just sank to its lowest point since 2012, with 43% of builders cutting prices, and Peter Schiff says the real danger starts once prices fall hard.

Texas AG Ken Paxton has taken about 350 out-of-state trips with a state-funded security detail, including 25 to foreign countries.
During a 2017 Israel trip, organizers said Paxton insisted on his own security despite the government providing it for six other AGs. His detail cost $75,000.
