Easy come easy go..
$CTA who made a pivot to become more energy heavy is looking even wilder especially for an ETF.

Pain was FI, Grains and Indices but Universe dependent.
Some would be up, our private trend program is up thanks to TTF Euro Nat Gas moving a lot. Many funds not trading that market missed out, I know a couple of small funds do that benefited earlier this year.
Carry was better for me but RSSY lost money, though it lost less than RSST.

Also for other things with strange data, check the market linking list some are old contracts linked to new (like Lumber). I had to actually fix a problem with their lumber linking.

Looks like CME shut that one down, there's big volume before it and the new contract starts in 2024 with hardly any volume at all.
Gemini says some stuff, not that reliable sometimes but makes sense
TTF was really nice to us this month - but look at the mess we had to hold through last month in Sep...
Then zooming out can see the fully messy trend since the start in March.
That's why I don't really believe in what all the famous stock traders and furus say about tight stops - tight stops just cost a lot of money and mess everything up.
Wide trailing stop the whole time, taking on risk because that's what we're paid for if lazy trading like this.
October. It seems like last month - starts well and spends the rest of the time whipsawing sideways.
BRL hit from the election looks small compared to grains, was an absolutely horrible month for grains that had built up a lot of exposure. TTF natty had such a straight-line trend the whole month that it covered for any of that pain.
Seems it was a tough month for many, I got lucky with my Universe selection and the choice not to trade individual equities on momentum/trend.

Ahh life is so peaceful after quitting crypto for tradfi😅
NGL I'd buy a shitload of BTC though if we got another FTX capitulation to some stupid low price..

Two different problems with results MAE in 2 directions:
1. MAE measures from the trade entry, that can be a long time before the current day. In that problem it overstates for losing trades
2. MAE doesn't show anything for todays profit give-backs for trades with unrealised P&L, in that respect it understates.
So it depends on your trade mix and how much open P&L you're carrying.
Long term systems / trend following I see larger MnNP than MAE because there's usually lots of open profit, as many losers already got stopped out.
Short term mean reversion I see larger MAE because they've only been open a few days and on the bad days they're mostly all in a loss and contributing to MAE from their entry prices.
Eg my long side of trend following strategy only looks like this first screenshot.
Mean reversion systems the second screenshot.
(I renamed them now too). Usually commenting out MAE on results though, but its ok at trade level.
