Dolly Parton tried to withdraw from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame because she thought an actual rock musician deserved the spot more.
When Parton was nominated in 2022, she publicly asked to bow out, explaining that she did not feel she had "earned that right" and worried her nomination might take votes from artists who had devoted their lives to rock. The Hall declined to remove her, explaining that induction recognized musical influence beyond strict genre boundaries. She was ultimately elected.
Dolly accepted, but apparently decided there was only one proper response.
She would earn it.
In 2023, at 77, she released Rockstar, the first full rock album of her career. The enormous 30-track project featured Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Joan Jett and other rock legends. Parton later explained that her Hall of Fame induction was what finally pushed her to make it.
Most people celebrate getting into a Hall of Fame.
Dolly Parton gave herself homework.

Dear artists,
Curators and collectors are trying to find your work, so PLEASE do yourself a favor and do the following:
1. Have a link in your bio to your available work! No one wants to have to look for hours through your feed to see if they can find a link to a piece or go through every platform searching for you.
2. If you have a Linktree: great โ but please update it. Again, having tons of expired or broken links is very confusing and frustrating. Update it and keep it current.
3. Have a webpage. You can do something very simple with AI or with any web-building tool. Something that says who you are, what your practice is like, shares your overall work, and shows your available work. Again, make it easy for a collector to fall in love with you.
4. In your X bio, have something that makes sense (or points to something that makes sense, like a website). If theyโre looking at your X profile, chances are something caught their attention or someone recommended you. Let them know who you are as an artist.
5. Please put prices on your pieces! It is very hard for a collector to offer to buy without knowing your price point. They donโt want to go too high, but they definitely donโt want to go too low and offend you. Take the guessing out of it. State your price (and adjust accordingly). If you donโt want to do this on a platform, at least do it on your webpage so collectors can understand your general price range.
6. Have some sort of pricing strategy that you can stand behind. Donโt make it seem like you have completely different pricing depending on which platform the collector finds you on. Do all your pieces have to have the same price? Absolutely not. Is it based on how much time you put into the piece? No. It is based on what you believe the piece is worth. Make it make sense to you, and it will make sense to a collector โ but be consistent.
7. And lastly, be active. I donโt mean you have to post 10 times a day or that you even have to have new work. But if a collector sees that youโve had no activity for over six months, they might assume things have changed and youโre no longer interested in selling. Most collectors want to buy beautiful work, but they also want to support an artistโs journey. If youโre no longer interested in the journey, they might not be either.
Rooting for all of you artists out there! The bear market is tough but there are many people looking for your work! ๐ซโค๏ธ

universities are about to realize that they had been selling the wrong product for the 150 years. they thought they sold knowledge, then information became free. they pivoted to selling credentials but now credentials are just proxies. in the post-ai era the universities who survive will realize they were always selling 3 things: network, status signaling, and a 4 years of protected time to become an adult.

Thereโs a collection that holds a truly unique place in this ecosystem - often not appreciated enough. The premier female-driven NFT collection @worldofwomenxyz recognised for putting womenโs creativity and perspective at the centre of Web3โs story - with men and women equally welcome. This in itself gives provenance. But more importantly, we actually need WoW, in what is still a largely male dominated space. They offer a gateway into Web3 unlike any other. And the artโs pretty good tooโฆ$WOWSTR

My next 'non-dickhead certified' JPEG purchase is now complete.
I minted 1,000 @worldofwomenxyz at launch, thanks to many reminders from @MagpieNFT as well as @YKarkai featuring in our beloved NFTBoxes prior to the release.
Whilst the journey has not always been a smooth one for World of Women (Sometimes trying to replicate the decisions of other successful projects isn't always the best option).
The fact is, they are still here, still showing up at events, still trying to build. I hope we can work on something cool together for House of Pranksy.
I added this very red WoW galaxy to my existing suited and booted OG, both have been added to my #NDC gallery.

NFTs are reaching an inflection point.
All NFT projects that still give a shit need to band together and start helping each other.
It's not wagmi.
NFTs deserve a place in crypto, and we must fight for it.

Crazy that @GiggleAcademy received more than $1m donations in the first 12 hours of the feature being online. Way beyond my expectations.
Lots of good people out there. Lots of good crypto people. ๐
90% of the donations so far came from a meme coin. I still don't get how a $5m market cap coin can generate $900k in fees in 12 hours for donations. I don't know who created it, or how the smart contract was coded. But thank you! ๐
This will forever change my perception of meme coins. Meme coins have utility! ๐ค
Giggle will put these donations to good use. They will be used to incentivize contributors and accelerate growth. They will not be use to pay employees. I will cover employee and server costs for the foreseeable future personally.
@GiggleAcademy did not create a token, and will not create a token in the foreseeable future. I don't want to complicate a free education platform with tokenomics.
I believe Giggle is perfectly capable of sustaining itself in the future (5-10 years later) by donations from Alumni networks who got (better) jobs because of the education Giggle provided, and the general public.
Let's together make education free for all of our future generations, and make it high quality!
Thank you, and onwards!

The biggest hiring mistake is giving someone responsibility without empowerment
Responsibility means you're accountable for outcomes. Empowerment means you can actually change the inputs to get those outcomes.
I see this everywhere in crypto teams
Head of Growth who can't modify the product that's hurting conversion rates.
Head of Marketing who can't adjust positioning because founders won't let them.
Head of Operations who can't change processes because "that's how we've always done it."
This setup creates dependency instead of ownership.
People become middle managers who spend their time asking for permission instead of solving problems. They get blamed when numbers don't improve, but they can't fix the underlying issues causing the problems.
The worst part is it kills good hires faster than anything else.
You bring in talented people, give them impressive titles, then handcuff them from making the changes needed to succeed. They either quit in frustration or become political players focused on managing up instead of delivering results.
Real empowerment means giving people the tools, budget, and decision-making power to actually improve their area.
If you can't do that, don't create the role.
A frustrated senior hire is worse than no hire at all.

๐ @ChristiesInc โs closing its talented digital art department is easy to read as โNFTs are dead.โ But that misses the bigger story in my opinion.
Whatโs happening is the same pattern weโve seen whenever a new medium collides with old institutions. Photography, video, even Impressionism all went through the same arc of being dismissed, overhyped, segregated, and finally absorbed.
NFTs just compressed the timeline. The boom of 2021 wasnโt cultural settlement, it was liquidity froth. Auction houses tried to bolt on digital art teams, but the economics never fit very well. Why charge 25% commissions to handle works that donโt need vaults, shipping, or insurance and have infinitely scalable digital sales distribution?
But this is definitely not an obituary. Itโs the graduation moment. Digital art doesnโt need its own department any more than photography does today. It belongs in the same conversation as contemporary painting and sculpture.
We are entering an age where everythingโfrom AI-generated media to Bitcoin inscriptionsโis born digital. Provenance, authenticity, and permanence will be defined on-chain. Art is just the first arena where this shift becomes visible.
So yes, the short-term headline is bearish. But the long-term arc is profound. We are building the cultural memory of the digital age. The works that matter will be the ones that stand up not just as speculation, but as art. They will be anchored in permanence, provenance, and meaning.
Christieโs didnโt shut the door on digital art but they did confirm itโs no longer a novelty. ๐ฅ
