Kinda hard to look at these old ass images but I wanted to do a Mass Effect thing really badly about 5 years ago.
Not too long ago I tried to get a Mass Effect pitch going at Powerhouse and did some art for it. Seems unlikely to happen now and I got the OK to post some of the art I did for it

LinkedIn is such a wild place. Seeing some of the absolute dumbest industry takes on there being taken seriously just because someone said what they said with their whole chest. You can build a career in entertainment just by yapping with confidence.

YOU'RE NOT PAYING TAXES FOR THE PROPERTY, YOU'RE PAYING YOUR TOWN FOR THE SERVICES IT PROVIDES. THE ROADS, POLICE, SCHOOLS, FIRE DEPARTMENT, LIBRARY, SNOW PLOWS, EMERGENCY SERVICES AND SO MUCH MORE.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?” Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century. politico.com/news/magazine/2…

Everyone's looking at this clip and talking about how good Ali would have been as Blade (which is true), but Bassam Tariq wrote and directed this movie and was originally attached to Blade and when you watch this movie you'll really see how much we were robbed.
Mahershala Ali in an explosive action clip from ‘YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER’. Now playing in select theaters, everywhere October 16.

I didn't like the idea of focusing on Blade's daughter before we'd even gotten a few Blade movies, but if the brilliant actress who played the daughter here (Adia) was the one cast and it was by done by this team...........I kinda see the potential now....

It is generally enjoyable to watch Abdul explain this, and specifically enjoyable to watch him explain this to one of the architects of an elite media consensus that is so out of touch with actual public consensus
Abdul El-Sayed explains to @chucktodd why there is bipartisan consensus in Washington against issues that have public consensus. @AbdulElSayed: “Take health care, for example. Public consensus that the government ought to do a lot more to provide us health care. Bipartisan consensus that it shouldn't. What's the difference? Biggest single lobbyist by sector is pharma. Second biggest lobbyist by sector is insurance. Eighth biggest is hospitals and senior homes.” Watch the full conversation on the Noosphere app noosphere.app/abdul-el-sayed…

Seems a little inevitable to me that there's going to be an enormous surge of interest in traditional/analog art, board games, figurines, etc. in the next few years.

🚨 BREAKING: In a major loss for voters, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to allow the Trump administration to initiate voter roll purges using a flawed database involving Americans' private data. The ruling will disproportionately impact naturalized citizens who've been wrongly flagged in the system.

Gavin Newsom hands huge win to Trump and his billionaire cronies.
Today, billionaires have yet again bribed, censored, and bullied their way to the top. As a result, a billionaire media conglomerate closely allied with the president will soon own one of its closest rivals, including some of the nation’s most critical news outlets. Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund will co-own those outlets, too. Layoffs will follow. People from L.A. to Atlanta will lose their jobs, small businesses will lose their contracts, your cable bill and movie ticket will be even more expensive. Dissent against money and power will be even harder to find. This did not have to happen. Thanks to an extraordinary outpouring of grassroots anger against the merger, a coalition of 12 state attorneys general sued to block it. They beat Paramount in court, winning a court-ordered pause on the merger, and beat them again at the negotiating table, getting the conglomerate to agree to pause the merger until as late as next June. But the Ellison family does not care about the law. Instead, they loudly threatened to leave California if their merger did not go through immediately. Gavin Newsom caved to that pressure. So did Xavier Becerra. And eventually, so did Attorney General Rob Bonta, agreeing to a weak settlement that will be exceedingly difficult to enforce. People want champions who are not afraid of rich bullies. Newsom, Becerra, and Bonta did not meet that mark. The people who work in the film and TV industry and the small businesses who support it will suffer as a result. And so will everyone who values dissent in our democracy. This is not the end. The coalition that fought to block this illegal merger will fight to break up big media. There is legislation pending in Congress today that would retroactively break up corrupt billionaire mergers. This industry was once marked with strict rules so that a small handful of conglomerates couldn’t own everything. There’s no reason we cannot return to that reality. There’s no reason we can’t build on it. But today is a loss, and that loss will be felt by the people who can least afford it.

If anyone is harmed from this insane decision—especially as we all know GenAi makes shit up and has a reliable failure rate percentage—the people who pushed for this irresponsible implementation need to be criminally charged and jailed. I’m dead serious about this.

NEW: in the coming weeks, House Democrats are going to unveil an AI policy response. It’ll be decided by a Jeffries appointed commission stacked with members funded by the AI industry including Ron Conway and Leading the Future PAC led by OpenAI, A16z and Palantir's Joe Lonsdale
