This week, he stepped up for Chris Wilder's side again, scoring and assisting in a Player of the Match performance in a 2-1 away win at Blackburn. A relentless, combative midfielder who combines huge work rate with impressive composure to progress play from defence to attack. He joined Arsenal at six years old and spent 11 years at Hale End before moving to Sheffield United, following the same path as another Young Lion lighting up the Championship in Will Lankshear. Sydie had a short-term loan at Oldham in 2022, but was recalled after an impressive nine games in the National League. The following season, he made his Premier League debut as a teenager and has since become a fan favourite at Bramall Lane. Having played for England U17s and U20s - where he bagged two goals and an assist in four games - he's now broken into Lee Carsley's U21s, starting two of their last three alongside captain Jobe Bellingham. He'll be well up for the fight for that centre-midfield starting spot, but faces Premier League competition from Archie Gray, Lewis Miley and Jack Hinshelwood.
